How do you grow a clivia so its leaves are oily green and glossy?
Clivia is one of the indoor plants everyone loves most; it is not only highly ornamental, but also purifies the air and improves the home environment. You surely want the clivia you grow to have glossy rich green leaves. So how do you grow a clivia so its leaves are glossy rich green? Let's find out:

1. Light
Light has a big effect on how clivia leaves grow. Strong light gives the leaves sunscald and makes them wither; too weak light and too short a light period weaken photosynthesis in the leaves, making them thin and pale with a dull surface; suitable light can increase the glossiness of the leaves.
From April to October, avoid strong light and give the clivia 2 to 3 hours of light in the morning and evening; in spring and autumn, apart from avoiding strong light at noon, it can have light all day the rest of the time; in winter it can have light all day, and if the sun is insufficient on a shaded side, a fluorescent lamp can be used to supplement the light.
2. Temperature
If the temperature is high and the clivia is placed outdoors, exposed to wind and sun, its leaves will lose their gloss, especially in summer; the clivia should be placed in a cool, low-temperature spot, and not casually moved outdoors to be exposed to wind and sun.

3. Fertility
If no fertilizer is applied all year round, the plant grows weakly and the leaves are dull; sometimes although fertilizer is applied, the fertility is insufficient and the glossiness is poor. Too much fertilizer, especially large amounts of solid fertilizer or liquid fertilizer, makes the leaves dark green and can also affect the glossiness of the leaves.
4. Regularly wash the clivia leaves with clean water
Regularly wash the clivia leaves with clean water to keep them clean, which helps respiration and transpiration; for the same variety, regularly washing the leaves with clean water can appropriately improve the glossiness of the leaves.
If you want your clivia's leaves to be glossy rich green, then besides the variety, light, temperature and fertility are all crucial. If you want your own clivia to be glossy rich green too, then get moving right away.
