How to raise carp for high yields? A full analysis of effective farming techniques
In some places abroad, carp is a hated invasive species, but in China it is a common farmed food fish and also a fairly popular fish. It is an omnivorous fish with wide adaptability. Easy to farm, with strong vitality. It is commonly found growing in lakes and rivers, and has strong reproductive capacity. So since carp is easy to manage, what else needs to be done for artificial farming? Let's learn about it together!

1. Environment
Carp like to live in still water, so it is best to farm them in still-water ponds, in pond aquaculture. Do not use flowing water sources, because carp also like warm water temperatures, and in flowing water the water temperature is unstable. Although carp have some ability to adapt to temperature changes, still water is best. Grass should be planted in the pond; carp can eat aquatic plants and the like, and there can also be a shaded resting place.
2. Preparation
Clean the pond, mud and the like, then soak it with limewater or other chemicals for about one week. After that, drain the water and clean the pond thoroughly with clean water. Fill with water to a depth 30 cm from the top of the pond, and set up an aerator.
3. Stocking
Stock fry about 5 cm in length. In the early stage, the fry are cultivated for a period before being released, so by the time they are released they have already grown to a certain size. Spring or autumn is the most suitable time for stocking, and releasing around midday is best. This is mainly determined by water temperature; they can only be released when the water temperature is above about 10°C. Generally, about 1000 carp are stocked per mu. The stocking pond can be fertilized to cultivate feed. About 500 jin of manure per mu.
4. Feed
For feeding, you can feed grain feed and animal feed, such as corn, wheat bran, soybean cake, peanut cake, bone meal, fish meal, protein powder and the like. They can be fed separately or as a formulated feed. There are many formulated feed recipes, and the feed formula can be adjusted and modified according to the fish's growth stage. You can also feed them small animals, small fish and shrimp.
5. Management
If the fish show signs of floating at the surface, they are prone to oxygen deprivation in high-temperature weather, so be prepared to aerate. If the temperature is too high, cement ponds tend to warm up easily, so pay attention to regulating water temperature. In heavy rain, be careful that water does not accumulate too much, submerge the pond and wash the fish away. The feeding amount should be the amount eaten within one hour, fed at fixed times every day. Pay attention to preventing diseases, and frequently clean the pond and disinfect the fish.
From the time the young fish enter the farming pond, this is the actual farming period, but before that, a suitable growing environment must be prepared. Only when everything is properly arranged can stocking take place. The key points of stocking are feeding and disease prevention. Management work must continue to be done well.
