How to control vegetable pests? Five methods introduced
Vegetables are indispensable to our daily life, so growers should know how to prevent and control pest outbreaks during cultivation. The following five points are listed.
1. Controlling chive maggots. Chlorpyrifos 160 g active ingredient, when symptoms first appear on chives (yellowed, soft, lodging leaf tips), dilute with water and evenly drench the base of the chive stems; diazinon 400 g active ingredient, when symptoms first appear on chives, mix the granule formulation with soil, spread evenly after mixing, and water thoroughly after application to ensure efficacy. Cyromazine 30 g active ingredient; phoxim 480 g active ingredient. When symptoms first appear on chives, dilute with water and evenly drench the base of the chive stems.
2. Controlling vegetable whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci). Imidacloprid, recommended dosage 2 g active ingredient/mu; bifenthrin, recommended dosage 0.75 g active ingredient/mu. Spray at the beginning of the whitefly outbreak peak.
Acetamiprid, 2.5 g active ingredient/mu (for example, 3% acetamiprid emulsifiable concentrate 83 mL/mu); thiamethoxam, 4 g active ingredient/mu (for example, 25% thiamethoxam water-dispersible granules 16 g/mu). Spray at the beginning of the nymph stage.
3. Controlling diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella). Emamectin benzoate, recommended dosage 0.15-0.25 g active ingredient/mu; fipronil, recommended dosage 1-2 g active ingredient/mu; chlorfenapyr, recommended dosage 3.35-5 g active ingredient/mu; indoxacarb, recommended dosage 3 g active ingredient/mu; chlorfenapyr, 5-6 g active ingredient/mu (for example, 10% chlorfenapyr suspension concentrate 50-60 g/mu), dilute in 50 L water and spray once; flubendiamide, 3 g active ingredient. Spray from the peak hatching stage of diamondback moth eggs to the 2nd instar larval stage.
Tebufenozide plus chlorpyrifos, 24 g active ingredient (tebufenozide 4 g, chlorpyrifos 20 g); flubendiamide, 3 g active ingredient, spray evenly at the beginning of the beet armyworm outbreak peak when most larvae are below the 2nd instar.
4. Controlling vegetable aphids. Imidacloprid, recommended dosage 1-2 g active ingredient/mu; acetamiprid, recommended dosage 0.45-0.6 g active ingredient/mu; pymetrozine, 5 g active ingredient; pyrethrin, 1.8 g active ingredient; matrine, 0.4 g active ingredient; clothianidin, 2 g active ingredient. Spray at the beginning of the aphid outbreak peak.
5. Controlling beet armyworm (Spodoptera exigua). Chlorfenapyr, recommended dosage 5 g active ingredient/mu; furan tebufenozide, recommended dosage 6 g active ingredient/mu; indoxacarb, recommended dosage 2.4 g active ingredient/mu; hexaflumuron 2.5-3.5 g active ingredient/mu (for example, 5% hexaflumuron emulsifiable concentrate 50-70 mL/mu); chlorpyrifos 20-24 g active ingredient/mu (for example, 40% chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate 50-60 mL/mu); emamectin benzoate, 0.3-0.5 g active ingredient/mu (for example, 1% emamectin benzoate emulsifiable concentrate 30-40 mL/mu), dilute in 50 kg water and spray once. It is recommended to spray during the early larval stage of beet armyworm (before the 2nd instar larval stage).
