How to Extend the Blooming Period of Roses and Notes on Bloom-Period Care
Roses bought for Valentine's Day wilt after just a couple of days, which is a heartbreaking thing for both the giver and the receiver. How can you make the roses from your loved one last longer?
Roses generally grow normally in soil, but keeping the plant strong during growth and achieving the best flowering requires a great deal of skill. Roses are drought-tolerant but not waterlogging-tolerant; too much standing water easily causes leaf drop and can even kill the plant. Only by controlling the amount of fertilizer and water, effectively supplying nutrients to the plant, and strengthening crop management can you effectively keep the plant strong and make the petals brighter and thicker.

Specific methods/steps:
1. We need to choose where to place the potted plant. We should know that roses love sunlight; a normal rose growing toward the sun will tend to grow more vigorously and have a longer blooming period, so it is recommended to place roses somewhere like a balcony.
2. Regarding fertilizing and watering, watering should not be too much. Too much water is not good. As for fertilizing, applying fertilizer to the potted plant about once a week is best.
3. When watering, you must check whether your pot has good drainage. Once a rose has grown to a certain size, you must prune it to encourage its growth.
As for rose cut flowers, giving your beloved roses full of love is the wish of every romantic person. How can you choose roses that satisfy your sweetheart and extend the blooming period as much as possible?
1. After bringing roses home, first remove the leaves that could be submerged, and cut the stems diagonally underwater, or cut a cross shape into them, then place them directly into a vase. Put a crushed aspirin into the vase, and the flowers will stay fresh for many days.
2. Prevent cooking fumes and dust from settling on them, change the water regularly, and avoid direct sunlight and excessive ventilation.
3. If you find that the flower heads droop due to a lack of water, cut off a section from the ends of the stems, then immerse the stems directly in a container of cold water with only the flower heads above the surface. After about one or two hours, the flower heads will perk up and regain their vitality.
