Key Points of Cattle Feeding Technology and Scientific Feeding Management Methods
The number of cattle raised is much higher than that of other cattle breeds, and there are many breeds raised in China over a wide breeding range. Cattle can both work and produce meat, and were once the main cattle breed raised in rural areas. Cattle have a strong constitution, well-developed muscles and fine-textured meat. In the process of raising cattle, feeding is the main task every day, and feeding is an important part of breeding. Feeding requires deciding the feed and feeding amount according to different stages.

I. Feeding of Cows
In order to ensure reproduction, the cow's body must be strong, with a certain degree of fattening and good nutritional conditions. Mainly feed roughage, then combine it with green feed and concentrated feed, but the cow's weight must be controlled to facilitate mating. During the mating period, feeding is 60% roughage, 20% concentrated feed and 30% green feed; this ratio meets the needs of growth.
II. Pregnant Cows
Once the ewe has successfully conceived, adjust the feed to ensure nutritional needs. Mainly feed green feed and concentrated feed, combined with a small amount of roughage or dry feed; generally 50% green feed, 35% concentrated feed and about 25% roughage. Green feed contains more vitamins and is easy to digest; concentrated feed is well absorbed and ensures nutrition, and some bone meal can supplement trace elements. Roughage is needed to maintain the supply of dry matter.
III. Feeding of Calves
After a calf is born, it will first drink milk. After about a week, it can be trained to eat feed. Calves can mainly be fed concentrated feed, and should not be fed roughage, as it is easy to cause indigestion or rumen impaction. Concentrated feed should be combined with some chopped vegetable leaves or pumpkin-type succulent feed rich in fiber. Dry feed and the like should generally be fed after about a month.
IV. Fattening and Feeding
After a calf is born and can be fed various feeds, fattening can begin at about 3 months after birth to gain weight and promote growth. Feed more and increase the number of feedings, about 4 times a day, with green feed supplied at all times. Use wheat flour, corn flour, soybean, fish meal and protein powder together to make concentrated feed and feed for two months. After that, raise them according to the feeding method for adult cattle.
Cattle feeding must follow the growth stage, with specific feeding at specific times. The number of feedings and the feeding amount can all be adjusted, so it is best to grasp the key breeding periods for raising cattle. In addition, the feed must be clean, nutritious and easy to digest.
