Why do Clivia miniata leaves scorch, turn yellow and drop

Yellowed Clivia miniata leaves

In midsummer, potted Clivia miniata plants in homes show scorched and yellowed leaves. The main reasons are:

First, high temperatures, intense sun, little rain, a dry environment, and hot, stuffy conditions with no ventilation.

Second, the potting soil is too wet, the plant is usually watered too much, the potting soil drains poorly, or the pot material is not breathable.

Third, concentrated fertilizer or raw fertilizer was applied, such as unfermented horse manure. The remedy is: if it was caused by improper fertilization, immediately repot and replace the soil, and replant. If it was caused by an unsuitable placement environment, move it elsewhere; the potting soil should be on the dry side, not too wet, and cut off the yellow-spotted parts and wait for it to grow new leaves. In addition, placing meat bones at the bottom of the pot easily breeds "white thread nematodes", which can also cause the leaves to scorch. The remedy is to repot and replant, remove all the horse manure or meat bones, replace with new soil, and then pot and plant again.
