Control of Edible Fungus Diseases and the Difference Between Clivia miniata and Clivia nobilis
Although Clivia miniata and Clivia nobilis both belong to the genus Clivia in plant taxonomy, they are two different plants. Their differences are:
① Clivia nobilis. The leaves are slender and narrow, reaching a length of about 100 cm, with a leaf width of 4-6 cm. The center of the leaf is thick and fleshy while the edges are thinner, and the leaf color is deep green with few branches. When in bloom, each small flower hangs downward in a bell shape, as if bowing its head and smiling at people, hence the name "Clivia nobilis" (the nodding clivia). The flower stalks are slender and soft, and it is generally grown in clustered pots.
② Clivia miniata. The leaves are wide, reaching up to 14 cm, the flowers are large, and the flower stalks are thick and sturdy, with the flowers resembling small trumpets. It is cultivated more extensively in the Northeast region, mostly as single plants in pots. At present there are several dozen horticultural cultivars (including varieties), but there is not yet a unified naming system; they include Guangliang Heshang, Hualian Heshang, Yuantou Heshang, Baotou Heshang, Jinsilan, Duanye, Huang Jishi, Xiao Shengli, Xiao Baicai, Xiguapi, Yuantou Duanye, and others.
