1. Light. Broccoli likes light during its growth process, but too strong light is also unfavorable for growth and development.

2. Temperature. Within the range of 5-20°C, the higher the temperature, the faster broccoli grows and develops. The optimum germination temperature is 20-25°C, and the optimum growth temperature during the seedling stage is 15-20°C.

3. Water. Broccoli has a relatively large water requirement throughout its entire growth process, especially during the vigorous leaf growth and curd formation stages, when it must not lack water; even short-term drought will reduce yield. Rainy conditions during the seedling stage or excessively high soil moisture can easily cause diseases such as black rot and black spot. During the curd formation stage, soil moisture must reach 70%-80% of field capacity to meet growth needs.

4. Soil. Broccoli is suitable for planting in loam and sandy loam with good drainage and irrigation, deep plow layer, loose and fertile texture, and strong water retention capacity. The suitable soil pH range is 5.5-8, with 6 being the best. During the seedling stage, the demand for nitrogen is relatively high; after flower bud differentiation begins, the demand for phosphorus and potassium increases; during curd development, the demand for trace elements such as boron, molybdenum, and magnesium is also relatively high.
