Edible Mushroom Cultivation Techniques and Methods for Preventing and Treating Orchid Anthracnose

How to prevent and treat orchid anthracnose?

Orchids vary by variety in their resistance to anthracnose, some strong and some weak. For example, among Cymbidium ensifolium, "Tiegan Su" and "Pulan", as well as Cymbidium sinense, have relatively strong disease resistance; "Dafeng Su" among Cymbidium ensifolium and "Dafugui" among Cymbidium goeringii have weak disease resistance.

In severely affected areas, in addition to selecting disease-resistant varieties, the spacing between pots should be widened during care to avoid cross-infection. After disease onset, misting should be reduced, air humidity appropriately lowered, and ventilation strengthened. After disease onset, spray with 50% captan 500-fold solution or 50% carbendazim 500-fold solution, spraying once every 7 days, for a total of 3 to 4 sprays to prevent infection; 75% chlorothalonil 500-fold solution may also be sprayed.
