What to pay attention to in koi breeding, Vorticella - Parasites - Koi diseases and treatment - Koi fish - Ornamental
Vorticella, also known as bell animalcule, cup animalcule, and tongue-cup animalcule, is a common sessile ciliate in water. The body of Vorticella is thick at the front and thin at the back, cup-shaped or trumpet-shaped, about 100~400UM in size (UM is the micrometer unit, 1000 micrometers = 1 millimeter), with a peristome at the front end, connected below to the oral groove. Around the peristome is a membranelle formed by cilia, which can swing to drive water flow and filter-feed on bacteria, microorganisms, tissue debris and other organic matter in the water. An attachment organ forms at the base, fixing itself to the epithelial cells of the host. There is 1 macronucleus, inverted triangular or oval in shape, located in the center of the body.

Vorticella iskoibreedinga parasite that appears especially easily in koi breeding, and its harm is also especially great, causing relatively seriouskoi fishdiseases, so how should we prevent and treat them? The following chapters will introduce this in detail.
