On the afternoon of May 29, the waters of our university's Heart Lake rippled and murmured, and teachers and students gathered along the lakeshore for the donation ceremony organized and arranged by the School of Communication. More than ten thousand ornamental fish, including koi and silver carp, donated free of charge to our university by Mengyin Yunmeng Lake Fisheries Co., Ltd. swam cheerfully into the lake amid the cheers of the teachers and students, bringing vibrant life to the landscape lake.
This ornamental fish release activity will powerfully improve our university's ecological water system and inject vitality and energy into our campus ecological development.
Our university will make every effort to care for the donated fish, further increase the number of donated ornamental fish and water-purifying fish, so as to fully meet the needs of water system purification across the whole university, and link the ecological development of Heart Lake with the overall appearance of the campus.

Fish
Koi (other names: red carp, flower-backed fish; Latin scientific name: Cyprinus carpio haematopterus) belongs biologically to the family Cyprinidae (Cyprinidae). Worldwide there are more than 3,700 species in 210 genera of cyprinid fish. It is a high-grade ornamental fish popular throughout the world today, praised as a "living gem in the water" and a "swimming work of art."
Silver
Carp
Silver carp (pronunciation: lian yu) (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix), also called white silver carp, water silver carp, jumping silver carp, or silver carp, belongs to the order Cypriniformes, family Cyprinidae, and is one of the famous Four Major Chinese Carps. The Four Major Chinese Carps are: black carp, grass carp, silver carp, and bighead carp. It is a typical filter-feeding fish.
The body is laterally compressed and slightly elevated, spindle-shaped, with a blue-gray back and white sides and belly. The pectoral fins do not extend beyond the base of the pelvic fins. All fins are grayish-white. The head is relatively large. The eyes are set very low. The scales are small. A keratinous ridge runs along the midline of the belly from below the pectoral fins straight to the anus. Its form is similar to that of the bighead carp; the silver carp has a restless temperament and is good at jumping.
