The Tri-color Shusui Koi isa koi varietymember; although its name contains "Shusui", it does not belong to the pale-yellow Shusui variety. It is a type of Kawarimono, with a beautiful and colorful appearance and smooth, bright skin, making the Tri-color Shusui very popular.
The back pattern of the Tri-color Shusui Koi is the same as that ofTaisho Sankekoi, with three colors of red, black and white arranged and distributed in harmony, very beautiful. Since it is named Tri-color Shusui, it naturally also has the characteristics of Shusui: the base color of the Tri-color Shusui is light blue, and as a German-system Tri-color Shusui, it has a row of large scales on its back extending to the tail, with the whole body reflecting a metallic luster, brilliant and colorful.

Kawarimono has a double meaning: one is "unusual and strange", and the other is "subject to change". As a member of the Kawarimono, the Tri-color Shusui,
on the one hand, combines the characteristics of Taisho Sanke, Shusui and German koi, possessing both the brightly colored beauty of Eastern koi and the striking luster of Western koi, and is therefore outstanding, embodying the "unusual";
on the other hand, the combination of red patches and sumi (black markings) on the back of the Tri-color Shusui varies in countless ways, making it very interesting, embodying its "changeable" nature.
