How Often Should Koi Pond Water Be Changed? Three Common Koi Diseases and Symptoms in Autumn
Three common koi diseases and symptoms in autumn...
The water temperature entering autumn is: from one week after the water temperature stabilizes at 25°C, until one week after the water temperature drops to 18°C. At this time, our beloved koi greatly increase their food intake, taking in nutrition to prepare for winter. For this reason we must: use high-protein, high-fat and color-enhancing fish food, namely: basic germ-type food, accounting for 30%; high-protein fish food (crude protein content ≥45%), accounting for 35%; color-enhancing fish food (spirulina content ≥8%), accounting for 35%. Feed three to four times a day; for koi of the current year, one or two more feedings may be added. As for the amount of food, base it on finishing within 20 minutes for koi over three years old; and finishing within 10 minutes for koi from the current year to two years old. Once a day, feed a mixed animal-protein feed; the best is fresh quick-frozen silkworm pupae, with the amount controlled at 3–5 pieces per fish. Shunde Carp King Koi Farm supplies selected silkworm pupae. Every day, drain the bottom water once from the sedimentation chamber, the first bio-chamber and the second bio-chamber of the filtration system; once a week, drain the bottom water from the clean water chamber.
