A detailed guide to gamecock breeding technology, teaching you how to scientifically raise gamecocks well
The gamecock is one of China's ancient chicken breeds, famous for being good at fighting and combat. Its main use is ornamental entertainment, and gamecock entertainment events still exist in many regions today. Its breeding benefits are considerable and the market prospects are great. However, it is not very easy to raise, so how should gamecocks be bred? Let's take a look.

1. Selecting and breeding good stock
The main use of the gamecock is ornamental entertainment, so when breeding them, males should be selected for being strong-bodied and tall in stature, with a bright red, flat tumor-shaped comb, and a body weight above 7 jin; females should be selected for being well-proportioned in build, lively and active, weighing above 5 jin, with large, spirited eyes. Only in this way can a better next generation be bred.
2. Feeding and management
The temperature and humidity requirements for gamecocks are similar. The temperature inside the chicken house should preferably be kept at 25 degrees. Boiled water that has been cooled is best for drinking water, so as to avoid bacteria in cold water causing disease and harming their growth. Humidity should preferably be kept at around 20%. Too high will cause chicks to contract infectious diseases, while too low will cause them to contract respiratory diseases. The drinking water supply must be sufficient and clean, and daily feeding must be at fixed times. When temperature and humidity are suitable, attention must be paid to ventilation to avoid the concentration of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases inside the chicken house becoming too high and causing poisoning of the flock.
3. Disease prevention and control
Hygiene in the chicken house must be done well. Manure must be cleared at fixed times every day to keep the ground clean and dry. The chicken house, the surrounding environment, and drinking and feed utensils must be disinfected regularly. Feeding utensils must be washed once a day to prevent bacteria from breeding and ensure the health of the gamecocks. At the same time, disease prevention and control must be done well: disinfect the pen once a week, and also disinfect the chickens' bodies. If feed consumption drops during feeding, or if they only drink water and do not eat feed, this may indicate that the gamecocks have been infected with some kind of disease. The cause must be identified in the chicken house and treatment given early.
4. Regular training
To keep gamecocks strong in build, you must persist in training them to fight for 2 hours and training them to run for 1 hour every day. Only professionally can you train gamecocks that are agile in movement and have tenacious combat ability. The training site should be kept quiet, and adverse external interference factors should be reduced as much as possible, so as to avoid affecting training. At the same time, pay attention to the training condition of the gamecocks to avoid the occurrence of egg pecking, feather pecking, and fighting. In particular, after injuries from fighting, timely treatment is needed to avoid infection with disease.
