I believe that for friends who keep fish, the shrimp they come into contact with most often is the Black Shell Shrimp, and at the same time the Black Shell Shrimp has always been one of the shrimp species most loved by fish keepers. So, are Black Shell Shrimp easy to keep?

The Black Shell Shrimp is a common tool shrimp and ornamental shrimp. It belongs to a type of Neocaridina shrimp and is also the cheapest of the Neocaridina shrimp. For its breeding, we need to pay attention to the following points.

1. Temperature: All aquatic animals and plants are relatively sensitive to temperature, and the Black Shell Shrimp is no exception. However, the Black Shell Shrimp is of the hardy type and has relatively strong adaptability to temperature; generally, it can survive at the extreme range of 5-35°C. But although it can survive at the extreme below 10°C, it is not conducive to the breeding of Black Shell Shrimp. Based on personal experience and the experience of fish keepers, the most suitable temperature for Black Shell Shrimp is 22-28°C.

2. Feeding: The Black Shell Shrimp is also called the "algae-eating shrimp." Its food is generally mainly algae or the corpses of animals and plants, so there is no need to deliberately put in food.

3. Water quality: The Black Shell Shrimp has relatively strong adaptability to water. As long as the water temperature and water quality do not suddenly change to a very large extent, its survival will not be affected.

4. Mixed keeping: The Black Shell Shrimp belongs to the gentle type of shrimp and generally will not attack other fish or shrimp. Therefore, when keeping Black Shell Shrimp, be sure not to keep them together with carnivorous or omnivorous fish, shrimp, or crabs. Black Shell Shrimp can be kept together with small fish such as guppies, mollies, zebra danios, neon tetras, and cardinal tetras, and this is also beneficial to the breeding of Black Shell Shrimp.

The Black Shell Shrimp belongs to the easy-to-keep type of shrimp and has relatively strong breeding ability. As long as everyone can care for it the way they care for other fish, the Black Shell Shrimp will certainly grow up happily and breed more and more!!!
