The money tree (Pachira aquatica) is a potted plant that everyone commonly grows, with good symbolic meaning, such as bringing in wealth and treasure, good feng shui, and so on. It can be grown in offices and at home, but many people often fail to grow it well, and in the end the money tree does not "bring wealth" either. Below, Little Helper tells everyone the correct way to grow a money tree:

1. Choosing the soil

When we buy one, it usually comes with soil, so there is no need to rush to change the soil; just use the soil it comes with. After growing it for a period of time, if you want to change the soil, you can choose garden soil or peat soil, leaf mold, coarse sand, plus a small amount of compound fertilizer or chicken manure as base fertilizer.

2. Learn to water

The root system of the money tree is not well developed, so it is very easy for root rot to develop, causing it to die. This places strict requirements on watering: you cannot water too much, meaning there must be no standing water in the pot, otherwise it is what we call "drowned." If it is drought, quickly watering can still bring it back. Therefore, generally watering a money tree once a month is not a small amount; of course, it also depends on the specific growth conditions.

3. Fertilizing tips

Under normal circumstances, there is no need to fertilize. If it appears wilted, you can apply a light fertilizer. Light fertilizer means what we call low-concentration fertilizer (dilute fertilizer). Never apply high-concentration fertilizer, otherwise it will "burn" the money tree, and the loss will outweigh the gain.

4. Choosing the environment

The money tree has strong adaptability and likes light while also tolerating shade. It can grow well in full sun, partial sun, or shaded areas, but it cannot grow in a dark place for a long time, nor can it be exposed to direct sunlight and scorching sun, to prevent it from drying up and dying.

5. Watch out for pests and diseases

Generally, the diseases of the money tree are stem rot, which causes root rot and stem rot, or anthracnose. The diseases can be controlled with chlorothalonil.

As for pests, such as cabbage caterpillars, inchworms, red spider mites, and so on, they can be controlled with omethoate.

Finally, the money tree needs to be pruned from time to time. First, for appearance; second, it can promote the growth of new branches.

Only when it is grown well can the money tree's symbolic meaning be achieved. Bring wealth, bring wealth - keep it alive and it will come!
