As rural entrepreneurial opportunities increase, more and more people are turning their gaze from the city to the countryside, hoping to get rich through breeding. No matter what breeding project you choose, you must first do your research to see whether the project is genuine, feasible, and suitable for you. Today we will introduce the rural breeding get-rich-quick scams out there.

1Ground beetle (soil beetle)

Is ground beetle farming real? Every day we can see reports about ground beetles in all kinds of media, saying the price is high and the market is tight, making us feel that ground beetle farming is a good project. Moreover, many companies advertise small investment, small space requirements, and simple breeding technology, claiming that investing a few thousand to tens of thousands of yuan can yield profits of hundreds of thousands to a million. Is that really the case?

Actually, ground beetle farming is real, but many companies exaggerate the benefits of ground beetle farming in order to speculate on breeding stock. They advertise a buyback price of mostly over 100 yuan per jin for fresh ground beetles and mostly 200 to 300 yuan per jin for dried ones. But dried ground beetles sold in pharmacies cost only about fifty or sixty yuan per jin, and in medicinal herb markets the price is even lower, so the price we can sell at would be even lower, roughly a tenfold difference from the price they advertise. Investors are advised to visit medicinal herb markets more often, check the real prices, and then decide whether to farm them.

These companies advertise this way actually in order to sell you insect eggs at a high price, and then the buyback contract you sign with them will become a piece of waste paper when the time comes. Moreover, ground beetle breeding technology is not as simple as they advertise, and many people simply cannot raise them successfully.

2Centipede

The promotional advertisements for centipede farming are similar to those for ground beetles, all claiming low cost, small breeding space, simple technology, and high profits. Like ground beetles, the costs are also falsely high; real centipede farming has high technical requirements and high environmental requirements, and the market is not as booming as they advertise. Everyone must choose carefully when farming them.

3Scorpion

Ground beetles, centipedes, and scorpions have always been the big three of those breeding-stock speculation companies. Scorpion farming also has relatively high technical requirements, and the profits are not as good as they advertise. However, besides medicinal value, scorpions also have some food value, and currently they sell quite well at snack stalls. If you have a sales channel in this area, you can choose scorpion farming; if you have no technology and no sales channel, you must be cautious about farming them.

4White jade snail

The white jade snail is a newly emerging specialty breeding project in China in recent years, and it has also been advertised by some companies as a get-rich project with small investment, small space requirements, low technical requirements, and good profits. Abroad, white jade snails really do sell well, but although they have been introduced into China for all these years, no consumption habit has ever formed, so sales are difficult. At present, domestic white jade snail farming is mostly focused on speculating on breeding stock, and very few actually make it to the dining table.

5Chinese black guinea pig

The project is fake. The "Chinese black guinea pig" is just a name made up by some companies; it is actually a type of guinea pig. Scammers give a new name to an animal that is not worth much, then call it a rare species, and sell breeding stock at high prices to make ill-gotten gains.

6Bullfrog, forest frog

The prospects for bullfrog farming are not bad, but almost none of the breeding stock sold on the market is genuine; they are all locally bred frog stock, and ordinary farmers find it very hard to tell the difference. Only after raising them do they discover they are not bullfrogs, but by then it is too late.

The forest frog is a treasure of Northeast China and can be used to extract forest frog oil, but it cannot be farmed everywhere because it has high environmental requirements, so everyone should not blindly buy breeding stock to farm them.

7Hybrid hare

This is a purely fraudulent project. Hares and domestic rabbits have different chromosomes, and the two simply cannot be hybridized. Some people deliberately advertise hybrid hare farming projects just to sell breeding stock, and this breeding stock is mostly low-priced Belgian rabbits.

8Fly maggot farming

The farming technology is real, but nobody buys back this kind of thing at all, and the farming costs are relatively high. If you do not raise chickens or fish yourself, never farm fly maggots. However, chickens and fish raised with fly maggots have relatively high costs, so if you do not have a high-end sales channel, everyone is advised not to farm them either.

9Meat dog farming

As for meat dog farming, the project is real, but it is very hard to buy genuine meat dog stock; most of it is passed off as local dogs. In addition, there are problems such as relatively high farming costs and high technical requirements, so everyone must choose carefully.

10Black soldier fly

The latest specialty breeding project being hyped, advertised as being able to feed on feces and household waste and produce high-value animal protein. At present, the farming technology is not yet mature, and like fly maggots, nobody buys back what is raised at all. Now most of it is mainly about speculating on breeding stock, using the banner of making money to sell breeder insects at high prices.

Summary

Most rural breeding get-rich-quick scams operate under the banner of small investment, small land use, simple technology, and high returns in order to speculate on breeding stock and sell seedlings at high prices. When you encounter similar projects, you must be vigilant and avoid being scammed. At present, rural breeding entrepreneurship is all about earning hard money; investment and effort are directly proportional to returns, and there is simply no such great breeding project.
