Cultured pearls vary in size, and the difference in value is great

For ordinary pearls, whether cultured or naturally formed, the most common size is 0.4-1.0 cm in diameter; the smallest ones are like millet grains and are called millet pearls.
The size of cultured pearls is related not only to the length of the culture cycle, but also to the secretory capacity of the pearl sac and the specifications of the inserted small pieces.
For nucleated pearls, it is also related to the specifications and size of the inserted nucleus. If the transplanted small piece is large in specification, the pearl's secretory capacity is strong, more nacre is deposited, and the pearl grains are larger; if the nucleus is large in specification, the pearl is also large.
At present, the classification of cultured pearl sizes is as follows: large pearls have a pearl diameter above 8.5 mm; medium pearls have a pearl diameter of 6.9-8.4 mm;
small pearls have a pearl diameter of 5-6.8 mm;
fine pearls have a pearl diameter of 2.6-4.3 mm; pearls below 2.6 mm are called fine li pearls (also called fine-grain pearls).
Pearls have different diameters and different sizes, so their values are also different. The larger the pearl, the higher the value!
