Efficient Crayfish Farming - What to Do About Crayfish Tail Rot Disease?

[Cause]
Caused by injury to crayfish, cannibalism among them, or infection by chitin-decomposing bacteria.
[Symptoms]
In the early stage of infection, water sores appear on the crayfish tail, and the edges ulcerate, become necrotic, or become incomplete. As the disease worsens, the ulceration gradually spreads from the edges toward the center. In severe infections, the entire tail ulcerates and falls off.

[Prevention Methods]
1) When transporting and stocking fry, do not stack them too heavily or damage the crayfish bodies.
2) During the farming period, feed should be given evenly and in sufficient amounts.

[Treatment Methods]
1) Sprinkle the entire pond with 15-20mg/L tea cake soak solution.
2) Use 6-8kg of quicklime per mu, dissolve it in water, and sprinkle it over the entire pond. 3) Use disinfectants such as strong chlorine essence, dissolve in water, and sprinkle over the entire pond. For severe cases, sprinkle continuously 4 times, with an interval of 1 day each time.
