Starting from January 1, 2018, the Environmental Protection Tax Law came into effect, and preparations for the collection and administration of the environmental protection tax were fully launched.This means that chicken farmers and pig farmers will have to pay taxes starting from 2018.

So, who needs to pay this environmental protection tax?

First of all, small-scale farmers can rest easy, because the target of the environmental protection tax is not them, but large-scale farms that have received state subsidies.

For large-scale farms, the scope of collection also has certain standards, usually for livestock and poultry farms with a breeding stock of more than 50 head of cattle, 500 pigs, or 5,000 chickens or ducks.

Note that the following special cases do not need to pay the environmental protection tax:

1. Non-production and non-business units and individual residents;

2. Non-large-scale farms used for agricultural production;

3. Large-scale farms that comprehensively utilize manure.

Some people harbor hopes of getting lucky and want to evade or underpay taxes. The editor reminds everyone not to have such dangerous ideas. Once tax evasion is discovered, you will face the following penalties:

1. If the amount of tax evaded is more than 10% of the tax amount, a fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or criminal detention shall be imposed;

2. If the amount of tax evaded is more than 30% of the tax amount, a fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years shall be imposed.

Environmental protection is a development direction that the state has always adhered to. Now that paying the environmental protection tax is a foregone conclusion, how can one stay safe under the high-pressure environmental protection tax? One, pay taxes honestly. Two, develop green farming and become exempt from payment.
