Introduction:Exploring the secret of the second brew in Chiling earthen ponds
I still remember the Zhangpu market in 2015, when Haid winter greenhouse second brew made its mark. The full water treatment barrel additive (abbreviated as second brew) caused a sensation in elevated ponds, with Lin Jinquan as a representative, all 6 elevated ponds exceeded 10,000 jin per mu in yield, with daily feed reaching 2,000 jin, and single-crop profit reaching over 2 million, rekindling the confidence and hope of the elevated pond farmer community. However, regarding earthen ponds, some say that due to differences in pond water quality and drainage systems, can the second brew also achieve success in earthen ponds?
So, what exactly is the effect of the full water treatment barrel additive (second brew) in earthen ponds? ---Today, with these questions in mind, let us enter Chiling, a beautiful She ethnic township, to explore the secret of the second brew in Chiling earthen ponds.
1. In his first year of shrimp farming, he succeeded for three consecutive cropsOne
Chiling She Ethnic Township is located in the northeast of Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. The Chiling Stream flows through it, and it also has two Class I drinking water sources, the Chilanxi Reservoir and the Yangmei Reservoir, with abundant surface runoff. The total population is 13,500, of which the She ethnic population is 12,400, accounting for 92%, making it the ethnic township with the highest proportion of She ethnic population in the province.

Coupled with its exceptional water sources and geographical environment, it has nurtured a group of ethnic minority shrimp farming experts who have profited for multiple consecutive crops. Among them, the representative is the protagonist of this issue - Boss Lan Yajin.

Boss Lan was originally the head of an art troupe and had led his team abroad to perform many times. Now, having just entered the shrimp farming industry, he happened to catch the wave of the full water treatment barrel additive. Haid salesperson Xiao Yu (Yu Lingbin) introduced him to the concept of the full water treatment barrel additive. After recognizing its value, Boss Lan resolutely implemented it, persistently using brew fertilizer + brew bacteria in winter greenhouses and late-season greenhouses, and mainly brew bacteria in summer, becoming the local farming champion for three consecutive crops. Below are Boss Lan's farming returns for three crops from 2016-2017:

2. The secret behind success
Three consecutive championships - what is the reason behind them?
✤ 1. An open, optimistic, and humble mindset
During our visit, he selflessly shared his successful experience with us, and also emphasized the need to consult industry experts (Lan Hankun). Standing on the shoulders of giants can help avoid detours.
✤ 2. Scientific and rigorous daily management
The pond area is very clean, and the barrels for feed, medicine, and drenching fertilizer are all dedicated.

✤ 3. Values technology and has strong systematic thinking
Boss Lan not only quickly accepted the full barrel additive but also used it well. At the same time, he also operated properly in pond bottom improvement and health care. Boss Lan always emphasized that the process of shrimp farming is essentially maintaining the normal operation of an ecosystem, and an error in any link could cause total collapse.
✤ 4. A good memory is not as good as a worn-out pen; keep daily records
Although Boss Lan was farming shrimp for the first time, through careful recording during the farming process, he had already formed a technical plan suitable for his own ponds. It is precisely through this that Boss Lan made a detailed summary combining the climate characteristics of different seasons with the full water treatment barrel additive and supporting product plans, providing a guarantee for continuous farming success. (Taking the 2017 late greenhouse shrimp as an example)

3. Analysis of the technical plan behind success
Based on Boss Lan's farming records, let us carefully analyze and summarize the following points for everyone's reference.
1. Clever use of "second brew", no worries about stable water (full water treatment barrel additive: brew bacteria + brew fertilizer)According to his farming record manual, we conducted a detailed analysis of the frequency of bacteria and fertilizer use

* The dosage of live bacteria products is 1 bag/bottle - 2 mu, the dosage of brew bacteria is 20 jin per 1 mu, and brew fertilizer is 5 jin per 1 mu
First 30 daysFocus on supplementing bacteria, with fertilizer supplementation as auxiliary. The average frequency of brew bacteria use is once every 4.4 days, plus other bacteria, mainly including the 4 common major categories of probiotics: Bacillus, photosynthetic bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, and yeast.
Last 40 daysFocus on supplementing fertilizer. The frequency of brew fertilizer use is significantly higher than in the early stage. The frequency of other bacteria product use is once every 3.5 days, basically consistent with the early stage. This illustrates two issues:
(1) In the early stage, the focus is on supplementing bacteria, using bacteria to inhibit bacteria, to prevent EMS, and to solve survivability control issues as much as possible. The metabolites in brew bacteria have a direct inhibitory effect on Vibrio, while carbon source substances can activate the indigenous bacterial community in the pond, indirectly inhibiting Vibrio.
(2) In the later stage, the focus is on supplementing fertilizer, mainly to solve pond dissolved oxygen problems and ammonia nitrogen and nitrite problems. The supplemented photosynthetic bacteria and Bacillus serve as auxiliaries to enhance system stability.
In addition, Boss Lan paid great attention to detoxification throughout the entire farming process, as shown in the table below:
In the early stage, detoxification was done once every 3 days on average, and in the later stage, once every 2 days on average, mainly to deal with algal toxins caused by algae aging and death. This is also a very key link.
2. Regular bottom improvement to control nitriteFor current earthen pond farming, nitrite can be described as a limiting factor restricting high yield. Especially in the winter greenhouse stage, if prevention and control are not paid attention to, when the feeding amount per mu rises to a certain level (different ponds will vary due to differences in water quality and bottom quality), nitrite can easily spike in a short time. In addition to maintaining stable water quality and algae quantity, attention should also be paid to bottom quality management. So what exactly should be used for bottom improvement, and what is the frequency? Boss Lan's records can provide everyone with a certain reference basis, as shown in the table below:
According to the data analysis results, the bottom improvement frequency in the first 30 days was once every 10 days, while in the last 40 days it averaged once every 4 days. Obviously, there is a large difference in bottom improvement frequency between the early and late farming stages. After the feeding amount gradually increased, the bottom improvement frequency increased significantly, mainly to control excessive nitrite and prevent bottom disturbance and hypoxia. (Bottom improvement product usage: 2 mu/bag in the early stage, changed to 1 mu/bag in the later stage.)
3. Regular mineral supplementation strengthens shrimp and stabilizes water at the same timeFor low-salinity earthen ponds, during the farming process, as shrimp molt and grow, minerals are continuously consumed. Minerals can alleviate shrimp body stress, white turbidity, cramping, and other phenomena, and promote hardening of the shell after molting. Supplement less in the early stage and more in the later stage - this is the consensus of shrimp farmers. What frequency of mineral supplementation is relatively reasonable? Boss Lan's records can also give us a relative standard, as shown in the table below:
According to data analysis, Boss Lan began supplementing minerals in the early stage of farming, about once every 4 days, and once every 3 days in the later stage. Early mineral supplementation mainly enhances the resistance of young shrimp and water body stability. The frequency in the later stage is slightly higher, increasing salinity and minerals. In the late farming stage, supplementing magnesium is very critical. The effect of bittern absolutely exceeds any magnesium supplement product. This customer's 4 ponds over 73 days of farming supplemented bittern 2 times in total, respectively once at 33 days of farming and once at 62 days of farming, with each dosage of 2 tons per 1 mu. First use 201 for detoxification, then add bittern, choosing good weather and when the shrimp are in good condition, to promote shell hardening and feeding.
4. Steady feeding, partial harvests
Ponds 1# and 3# were stocked with seedlings on February 12, and ponds 2# and 4# were stocked on February 18. The stocking density was 45,000 per mu. The feeding method of 2 meals per day was adopted throughout (the above are all lunar calendar dates).
For late greenhouse shrimp, feeding should prioritize stability
(1) Control feed during the clear feeding tray period
By around March 8, all 4 ponds had completely cleared the feeding trays. There was no rush to increase feed. Feed was added at about 10% per day, that is, an increase of 0.5 jin per meal.
(2) Steadily increase feed in the later stage
After clearing the feeding trays, continue to maintain an increase of 0.5 jin - 1 jin per meal until harvest. From April 1-5, feed was reduced due to weather conditions.
(3) Do a good job of oral health care throughout
During the clear feeding tray period, use Shrimp Liver Treasure + Vc50 + Bangduling Powder mixed into feed. Normally, every meal uses Shrimp Duobao fermentation liquid + 103/Yijunduo mixed into feed to regulate the shrimp intestine, and regularly use Shrimp Liver Treasure + Bangduling Powder to protect the liver.
Detailed feed mixing and feeding records
(4) Partial harvests to reduce pond pressure
Rotational harvesting was carried out on April 21 and April 29 (lunar calendar) respectively. Pond clearing and harvest was on May 2 (lunar calendar).
4. Solid service, full-process escort
The Haid team regularly provides technical services to Boss Lan
Haid technical service personnel Yu Lingbin regularly provides Boss Lan with water quality and Vibrio testing. Boss Lan can promptly treat water quality and control Vibrio based on the test results, providing an important guarantee for the smooth progress of farming. Therefore, Boss Lan has always believed in scientific testing data, praised Xiao Yu's service highly, and knows the full barrel additive plan by heart.
5. Summary
Boss Lan's success with the full water treatment barrel additive also verified that -- not only elevated ponds, but earthen ponds can also succeed! Today, Chiling's second brew has made its mark. Markets such as Zhangzhou, Longhai, and Chengxi are also seeing a rising wave of the full barrel additive, and customer recognition is growing higher and higher. Winter greenhouse second brew, summer first brew. What we look forward to is more bosses being able to join this trend, and like Boss Lan, with dedicated research, detailed records, and proper management, be able to win championships in farming. At the same time, we also look forward to the full barrel additive creating better returns for more farmers!
