Four-season care methods for Cymbidium orchids: care requirements differ from season to season

When it blooms, be sure to stake the flower stems in time
Cymbidium orchids are among the potted plants seen most often in the flower market today, and they are also a variety loved by many flower enthusiasts. Cymbidium orchids are a relatively easy variety to grow, with bright blooms, large flowers and vivid colors.

Good ventilation helps flowering
In everyday care of Cymbidium orchids, pay attention to the growing temperature, water and fertilizer, ventilation, light and potting soil, and then adjust care for each season.

The flowers are too densely packed
Spring: place the plant in a sunny, well-ventilated spot and apply organic fertilizer as a top dressing. Be careful to control slugs and scale insects. Spring is also the season to repot Cymbidium orchids; generally repot once every two years, and division can also be done in spring.

Here comes an even denser one
Summer: in summer, focus on shading and cooling, and lower the temperature as much as possible to keep the plant's growing environment at 10-30°C. In early summer, apply organic solid fertilizer once a month. At the same time, be careful to control whiteflies and black spot disease.

Shade is needed in summer
Autumn: in autumn, water appropriately, keeping the potting soil merely moist. The pot can be placed in a sunny spot for care, but still pay attention to shading to prevent the leaves from being scorched by intense sun. Fertilize mainly with liquid fertilizer rich in phosphorus.

Secure the flower stems
Winter: when growing Cymbidium orchids in winter, pay special attention to the management of temperature, humidity and ventilation. It is usually recommended to place the plant in a sunny spot, and be careful to keep the temperature from being too high or too low. No fertilizing is needed in winter; simply stake and secure the flower stems in time.
Soil for growing Cymbidium orchids: generally a mix of bark, tree fern fiber, sphagnum moss, humus and peat soil is suitable.
