How to raise broiler chickens for fast weight gain? Practical farming tips to share
Broiler chickens include white-feathered broilers and yellow-feathered broilers. The growth period of white-feathered broilers is 42 days, with a general incubation period of 21 days, while yellow-feathered broilers are a breed native to our country. Although they grow more slowly, their meat quality and flavor are good, and they are raised more in southern China, with an incubation period of 21 days and growth periods of 60 days, 90 days, and 120 days.
Broiler management must be proper to reduce disease during the growth process. From the start of feeding to later-stage management, none of it can be neglected.

1. First feeding, generally 8-12 hours after hatching. Spread plastic sheeting on the ground, scatter evenly mixed compound feed on the plastic sheeting, and while scattering, gently tap the cloth surface with your fingers to entice the chicks to eat. Each feeding should last 20-30 minutes. When they are 80% full, remove the plastic sheeting and let them rest quietly. After that, feed once every 2 hours so that all the chicks learn to peck food on the first day (for chickens 1-3 days old, use boiled water to soak crushed feed and add oxytetracycline and multivitamins, or use roasted crushed rice as the starter feed).
2. Feeding: feed at fixed times and in fixed amounts, 4 times a day. During feeding, dry feeding can be used; simply add the compound feed to the trough at set times, and feed green feed separately. Wet feeding means mixing the compound feed, green feed, and water evenly and then feeding.
Feed formula for 4-27 days of age: corn 65%, wheat bran 4%, soybean cake 14%, fish meal 9%, blood meal 4%, bone meal 2%, shell meal 2%, salt 0.3%, growth promoter 0.2%. In addition to feeding compound feed, also appropriately add fresh feed, supplementary feed, and green feed so the chickens can consume food better.
3. Drinking water: drinking water can be given at the same time as the first feeding, but it is best to give water before the first feeding. For the first watering, give a 0.01% potassium permanganate aqueous solution or 10% sucrose water. For 1-15 days of age, it is best to feed warm boiled water.

4. Management: before chicks are 4 weeks old, temperature, humidity, density, and light must be especially well controlled. The suitable temperature for 0-4 days of age is 34°C, 32°C for 5-7 days of age, then lower by 2°C each week until it stops at 20°C. The relative humidity for 0-3 weeks of age is 65%-70%, and after 3 weeks of age it is 55%-60%. Stocking density is 40-30 birds per sq m for 1-2 weeks of age, and 30-25 birds for 3-4 weeks of age. Light duration should be no less than 16 hours per day. After chicks grow to 4-5 days of age, pay attention to ventilation in the chicken house, open windows appropriately, and let the chicks bask in the sun.
How to make chickens gain weight in winter
1. Methionine addition method: add 4 grams of methionine and a small amount of vitamins to every 5 kilograms of chicken feed to feed the chickens, and weight gain is faster.
2. Sterile fly maggot feeding method: use distillers' grains as the raw material to produce 500 grams of fresh fly maggots to feed broilers, which can increase weight by 0.9-1 kilograms.
3. Soybean oil addition method: in the 7 days before selling broilers, add a little raw soybean oil to the chicken feed, which can make the broilers fat and the meat tender.
4. Fat chicken powder addition method: prepare fat chicken powder according to the dosage of dried ginger powder 20%, licorice powder 9%, fennel powder 7%, cinnamon 50%, cooked soybean powder 6%, and ferric sulfate 8%. Give each chicken 0.5-1 gram each time, mix with water and add to the feed, and feed once every 2 days.
5. Cooked cornmeal feeding method: feed 1 chicken 200 grams of cooked cornmeal per day, artificially added in 3 feedings in the morning, noon, and afternoon. Adding some green vegetable leaves appropriately gives even better results.

6. Multienzyme tablet feeding method: 3 days after chicks start feeding, add 0.04% multienzyme tablets (grind finely and mix evenly) to the daily feed, and feed continuously for two weeks.
7. Mugwort powder feeding method: add 2% mugwort powder to the daily ration of broilers, and daily weight gain can increase by 10%-20%.
The above is an introduction to management methods for broilers from the start of feeding to later-stage weight gain. As the saying goes, do not fight an unprepared battle. Build a foundation for the growth needs of broilers in the early stage, and then use weight-gain feeding methods in the later stage for better results.
