Can bio-organic fertilizer actually be mixed with chemical fertilizer?
Can bio-organic fertilizer be mixed with chemical fertilizer?
Autumn base fertilizer application emphasizes complete elements and complete nutrition, that is, organic (slow-release) + inorganic (quick-release) + beneficial bacteria (synergistic). All 17 elements required by fruit trees must be present, which inevitably means bio-organic fertilizer has to be mixed and applied with inorganic chemical compound fertilizer.
Bio-organic fertilizer not only contains rich organic matter, but also has a large amount of beneficial microbial active bacteria added to it. Chemical fertilizer not only consumes the organic matter in the soil, but can also directly kill the beneficial microbial active bacteria in the soil. Without special processing and treatment, bio-organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer cannot be mixed and applied together.
The principle of autumn base fertilizer application is "based on slow-release and long-lasting effects, adhering to bio-organic materials, and scientific formula fertilization". Many fruit growers, in order to improve the soil, promote tree vigor, prevent and control pests and diseases, and enhance quality, have generally recognized the important role of bio-organic fertilizer, so they began to apply bio-organic fertilizer in increased amounts, but at the same time also added ordinary compound fertilizer for a "one-shot" application. The result was not only consumption of organic matter and death of beneficial microbial bacteria, causing a huge waste of bio-organic fertilizer, but more importantly, burning the fruit tree roots underground to the point that "large roots have no bark, small roots have no hairs", and even withered leaves and dead trees.
Urea and ordinary compound fertilizer are both industrial raw materials for processing fertilizer, made by high-tower granulation, and low in price. Applied directly, excessively, and in a concentrated way into orchards, they easily burn roots, and in particular they must not be directly mixed and applied with bio-organic fertilizer. However, slow-release fertilizer and loss-control fertilizer, which use sulfur and HDDE as the main coating materials to coat granular urea and chemical fertilizer and achieve slow release of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, can be safely applied in orchards and can also be mixed with bio-organic fertilizer.
Sulfur-coated urea, or sulfur-coated urea, belongs to the inorganic coated slow-release fertilizer category. Urea sulfur-coated urea is a coated slow-release fertilizer made by coating urea on the outside with sulfur and a microcrystalline wax sealant. Nutrient release is continuous and stable, meeting the nutritional needs of crops, increasing yield, and improving quality. The color is unique, the fertilizer is nearly neutral, and it is suitable for all kinds of soil and crops. The unique sulfur nutrient can control the rate of nutrient release. Controlled-release fertilizer has a thin film on its surface. According to different coating materials, it is divided into sulfur-coated controlled-release fertilizer, resin-coated controlled-release fertilizer, and many other fertilizers. Taking resin-coated controlled-release fertilizer as an example: the coating surface has micropores, and the micropores become larger or smaller under the influence of thermal expansion and contraction, so it is also called "smart controlled-release fertilizer".
HDDE is a high-tech product rich in highly active controlled-release (slow-release) factors such as urease inhibitors, nitrification inhibitors, and nitrosation inhibitors. It can make the release rate of fertilizer consistent with the fertilizer requirement pattern of crops, truly achieving the goal that a single application of fertilizer can meet the nutrients needed by crops throughout the entire growth period, thoroughly and effectively solving the shortcomings of ordinary fertilizer such as low utilization rate and relatively serious loss, increasing crop dry matter weight and yield, and improving product quality.
Slow-release formula fertilizer and multi-element loss-control fertilizer both have sulfur coating applied to nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium or have HDDE slow-controlled release factors added, and bio-organic fertilizer and Yijunbao have been coated with Bacillus. They can be safely mixed directly without causing organic matter consumption and nutrient loss, and the chemical fertilizer will not kill beneficial microbial active bacteria. During application, mixing with soil and stirring is more conducive to fertilizer decomposition and conversion.
