Technical key points for raising growing pigs well in summer and autumn

Piglets are weaned at 3-6 weeks of age and kept in the nursery house for 4 weeks. When body weight is 20-50 kg, because bone and muscle growth is relatively fast, they are called growing pigs. At this stage, the protein level is 16% and the lysine content is 0.8%. At 50-110 kg, adipose tissue is deposited in large amounts, so the protein and lysine levels can be appropriately reduced to 14% and 0.65% respectively. Ordinary pig farmers are accustomed to using concentrate or premix combined with corn, bran and other raw materials for feeding, but attention should be paid to the fact that the premix produced by some manufacturers is not up to standard, resulting in pigs

In terms of growing pig management, pay attention to the following points -- pay attention to cooling. In early autumn, the temperature in some areas is still relatively high, so pig farmers should pay attention to taking cooling measures and should spray water on the pigs' bodies and the pig house floor to lower the temperature. When spraying water on the pigs' bodies to bathe them, do not spray their heads. After the pigs finish eating, give them enough clean cold water to drink.

Feed more green feed. Appropriately feed some feed with high energy content. In particular, take mosquito prevention measures so that the pigs can sleep quietly.

Pay attention to feed storage. Autumn, especially late autumn and early winter, has suitable temperatures and abundant feed, making it a good season for pig growth and development. Sweet potato, potato, peanut vine, bean stalk and others, after being crushed and fermented, are all very good feed for pigs; potato tubers, bean pods and stems and others can be dried in the sun, crushed and then used to feed pigs.

Increase the number of disinfections. Because pathogenic microorganisms are easily killed by heat sources, the disinfection effect at this time is better than in winter. Therefore, if an all-in-all-out system can be implemented before autumn arrives, thoroughly cleaning the pens and repeatedly disinfecting them will be of great benefit to the health of pigs raised in the following winter.
