What causes weak growth in cherry blossoms?
1. Insufficient soil nutrients. Cherry blossoms consume a great deal of water and nutrients when flowering, and the nutrients in the soil where they grow are lost for various reasons; when nutrients are insufficient, the cherry trees suffer from malnutrition and become weak.
2. Poorly aerated soil. Human causes such as trampling by visitors and unreasonable paving compact the soil, resulting in poor aeration and poor air permeability, which inhibits root growth.
Most cherry trees beside park paths suffer from trampling by people as well as the effects of excavation and fill, and the compacted soil causes part of the root system to die, so the tree vigor weakens accordingly.
3. Poor soil texture. Piling cement, lime, cinder, household garbage and the like under cherry trees all degrades the physical and chemical properties of the soil. Dumping sewage indiscriminately, or routing underground sewage channels around the cherry root zone, can also cause soil pollution. In addition, severe air pollution also affects the growth of cherry trees.
4. Damage from pests and diseases. After a cherry tree enters old age, its ability to resist pests and diseases weakens, and once pests or diseases occur, the tree vigor is also weakened.
5. Mechanical wounds and human damage. Cherry trees beside roads, in scenic areas and in specialty gardens are often subjected to wounds from cars and other machinery, and the behavior of some visitors who carve their names on the trunks to leave a memento, break off flowering branches and so on all affects the healthy growth of cherry blossoms.
Based on an analysis of the causes of weakened cherry tree vigor, identify the dominant factor causing the decline. Generally, first look at the site conditions and observe and test the soil nutrients, ventilation, air permeability and whether it is polluted; then check whether the leaves, branches and trunk, and root system of the cherry tree have been damaged (both naturally and by human action) or polluted, and whether pests or diseases have occurred, to identify the main cause. If the cherry tree has been weakened by multiple causes, effective measures should be adopted, with the right remedy for the problem, and comprehensive rejuvenation should be carried out step by step.
