Detailed Explanation of New Technology for Circular Pig and Chicken Rearing
With the arrival of the era of low profits in animal husbandry, raising only one type of livestock or poultry often fails to yield good returns due to various reasons such as market and cost factors. The new technology of efficient circular pig and chicken rearing is a practical technique particularly suitable for rural farmers. It is introduced as follows:
Use lactic acid fermentation of chicken manure to feed pigs. There are many methods for feeding chicken manure to pigs, such as the sun-drying method, fresh-feeding method, and conventional fermentation method, but it is best to use lactic acid-fermented chicken manure. This is because this method can turn chicken manure into high-quality pig feed with good palatability. The fermentation method is: first sun-dry the chicken manure until it is 70% dry, then mix an appropriate amount of lactic acid bacteria and 10 kg of wheat bran or rice bran into every 100 kg of chicken manure, put it into non-toxic plastic bags or other containers for sealed fermentation for about 10 days, until a vinous aroma can be smelled. When feeding pigs, it is best not to mix more than 40% into the feed, and for sows, especially pregnant sows, it must not exceed 20% of the feed. Use pig manure fermentation to cultivate insects to feed chickens. Collect and pile up fresh pig manure every day, about 500 kg per pile, spread it out and sun-dry until 70% dry, then add 20% soil and 3% bran or rice bran, mix well, pile it up, and seal the manure pile tightly with plastic film for about 7 days. Dig a deep pit on flat ground, then spread the fermented pig manure evenly in the pit to a thickness of about 30 cm to 40 cm, cover it with green grass or straw curtains or burlap sacks, keep it moist, and prevent water from entering on rainy days. Generally, after about 20 days, maggots, insects, and @#@254@#@ will appear. The insects produced from the manure of one pig can generally feed about 20 chickens.
