Cattle farmers must guard against cold-induced dehydration in cattle in winter

Water can both cool them down and warm them up. 1) Cooling with water: For each adult cow, each time mix 0.3-0.6 kg of baijiu (Chinese liquor) or 0.2 kg of urea into 5 kg of cold water and let the cow drink it on its own. Alternatively, the day before feeding hay, soak the hay in cold water for 3-5 hours, then feed it to the cow. 2) Warming with water: In winter, when the weather is cold, for cows in weak body condition, heat clean water to 40°C and add 30-50 g of table salt or 100 g of soy sauce per kg of water and let them drink it. 2. 2. Feeding nutritional tonics

Mainly according to the cow's physical condition, feed the following 3 kinds of tonic water respectively: 1) Fat tonic water. Grind fat-type feeds such as bran, peanut cake, sesame cake, and cottonseed cake, feed each cow 3-5 kg per day, add another 2-4 kg of distillers' grains, 10 kg of chopped forage, 100 g of table salt, and 15 kg of hot water, mix well and feed to the cow. 2) Protein tonic water. Mix soybean cake and water at a ratio of 1:10, soak the soybean cake, and feed it to the cow. 3) Trace element tonic water. Add trace elements to the drinking water; for young cattle, feed each cow 5-10 mg of zinc, 6-12 mg of iron, 4-8 mg of calcium, and 10-15 mg of magnesium per day. Continuous feeding for one winter gives very good results.
