What kind of disease is Carnation latent virus disease?
[Pathogen] Carnation latent virus (Carnationlatantvirus, CaLV), thermal death point 60-65°C. Survival in vitro at 20°C is 2-6 days.
[Symptoms] After this virus infects carnation, it generally shows no symptoms, but it can significantly reduce plant growth and flower quality. When co-infected with Carnation vein mottle virus, it can produce mosaic. On indicator plants, it can form obvious chlorotic mosaic patterns.
[Occurrence pattern and epidemic characteristics] The above virus is mainly transmitted through plant sap and green peach aphid; operations such as cutting flowers, bud removal and cutting stems, tools, or artificial rubbing can also transmit the virus. Virus-carrying cuttings are also an important route of virus transmission. Their host range is relatively narrow, but their distribution and damage occur almost worldwide. When plants are planted too densely, diseased and healthy leaves rub against each other, which favors the occurrence and development of the disease.
