Cultivar Characteristics

Both 'Linlong No. 2' and 'Linlong No. 3' are large-flowered cut flower types, with super-double flowers and fragrance.

'Linlong No. 2' has relatively strong growth vigor. Its most prominent characteristic at the seedling stage is broad, thick leaves and relatively strong resistance to leaf spot disease. The flower stems are thick and strong, and the plant height is 68-86 cm. The leaves are green with a thin waxy layer. The flowers are peach red, neat and beautiful, with a flower diameter of 8-10 cm when fully open. The petal count is 50-60, and the petal edges are sharply serrated. The flower buds are oval, and before opening the cleft is star-shaped, with only 2 styles.

'Linlong No. 3' has strong stress resistance. The flower stems are thick, strong and upright, and the plant height is 100-120┩. The leaves extend obliquely, the leaf color is dark green, and the surface has an obvious waxy layer. The flower diameter is 10-1lcm, and the flowers are dark red with a silky luster. The petal count is 75-80, the petal edges are serrated, and the notches are deep. The flower buds are obovate, and there are 2-3 styles. Key Cultivation Techniques

Suitable for protected cultivation throughout the country. It prefers loose, fertile, well-drained sandy loam with a pH of 6.0-7.5. In the Shanghai area, seedlings are generally planted in November, with a plant spacing of 1.2-1.5 cm x 1.5 cm, and netting, bud removal and disbudding should be carried out at the appropriate time. The suitable growth temperature is 18-25°C; growth vigor weakens above 30°C, and frost damage easily occurs below 0°C. During the growing period, topdressing is applied 1-2 times per month; nitrogen fertilizer is mainly used in the early stage, and compound fertilizer is better in the later stage. In summer, pay attention to shading and ventilation, and in winter, pay attention to heat preservation.
