Key Technical Points for Disinfection and Disease Prevention During the Young Silkworm Stage
In young silkworm co-rearing, "disinfection and disease prevention" must be carried out throughout the whole process, earnestly grasping the technical keys of three links: pre-rearing disinfection, disinfection during the rearing period, and final disinfection:
1. Pre-rearing disinfection.
Based on the principle of being comprehensive and thorough and seeking practical results, on the basis of comprehensive cleaning and washing, targeted chemicals are used for disinfection, while strengthening management after disinfection. It should be noted that:
1. The water used for washing must be of good quality; it is strictly forbidden to wash silkworm tools in stagnant ditches, ponds, or by riversides;
2. Garbage and other waste from cleaning and sweeping must be concentrated and piled in pits far from the silkworm rearing room and mulberry field, sealed with mud slurry and treated by fermentation;
3. Taking the types of silkworm diseases that occurred in the previous season or previous year as the focus, carry out targeted disinfection, doing it in multiple rounds and comprehensively and thoroughly. For example, use 2% lime slurry against viral diseases, use "402" against fungal diseases; for comprehensive disinfection use Xiaoduqing, Duxiaosan, bleaching powder, etc.
4. To improve the disinfection effect, immersion disinfection should be no less than 1 hour, spray disinfection should be kept moist for half an hour, and fumigation disinfection should be sealed for more than 24 hours (24°C). Lime slurry should use a suspension, bleaching powder should use a clarified liquid, and Duxiaosan should fully generate smoke.
2. Disinfection during the rearing period.
During the @#@250@#@ period, pathogens and viruses in the silkworm rearing room will still gradually accumulate as they are brought in by personnel, mulberry leaves, and air, so disinfection and disease prevention must run through the entire process, and during this period attention must be paid to:
1. Routine disinfection of the silkworm body and rearing bed with powders (fresh lime powder, anti-stiffness powder) for newly hatched silkworms, silkworms at the start of each instar, and during feeding is indispensable, and must be used on time and in the right amount;
2. Targeted treatment should be strengthened according to the climate and the silkworm rearing room environment. For example, when humidity is high, add fresh lime powder; when mulberry field pests frequently cause stiffness disease, strengthen anti-stiffness treatment and use more anti-stiffness powder, etc.;
3. When air dust pollution is caused in the silkworm rearing room by removing litter, use 0.5% Xiaodujing or 1% available chlorine bleaching powder liquid for air and floor disinfection, etc.;
4. Do a good job of daily disinfection and cleaning of small silkworm tools such as silkworm nets, plastic film, and mulberry leaf handling tools.
3. Final disinfection.
At the end of co-rearing, final disinfection should be done well, mainly:
1. Before young silkworms are distributed, carry out one disinfection of the silkworm body and rearing bed; the amount of anti-stiffness powder used should be appropriately on the higher side; after taking the young silkworms back, silkworm farmers should immediately carry out another anti-stiffness powder disinfection;
2. When distributing young silkworms, they should be distributed after removing litter; do not carry silkworm litter out of the co-rearing room; to prevent damage to the silkworm body during distribution, use plastic film silkworm nets to remove litter;
3. To prevent outdoor contamination, silkworm trays and silkworm nets used for young silkworms should not be taken out of the co-rearing room;
4. After young silkworms are distributed, cleaning and disinfection should be carried out immediately; silkworm tools should be properly stored and not used for large silkworms.
