Ten Effective Proven Recipes for Fattening Thin Rabbits in Autumn and Winter
Domestic rabbits, after enduring the hot summer, are mostly weak and thin, so it is essential to hurry and add feed to fatten them after the beginning of autumn, in order to improve the rabbits' physical strength and production performance. The following methods can be used to fatten thin rabbits in autumn and winter.
1. For rabbits with rough, messy fur and poor spirits, use an appropriate amount of tea leaves, plus 15 grams each of pixie fern (Drynaria) and honeysuckle, decoct the juice for oral administration, 2 times a day, 10-15 milliliters per rabbit each time, taken for 3-5 consecutive days, with remarkable effect.
2. Give each rabbit 5-7 grams of white sugar daily, dissolved in warm water, and let the rabbit drink it on its own. Generally, after 15-20 days of use, the rabbit can regain its fat.
3. Take 10 grams each of red dates and brown sugar, and 8 grams of angelica (Angelica sinensis), decoct the juice and feed it to the rabbits, once a day, taken for 7-10 consecutive days.
4. Take 50 grams of fresh celery, 10 grams of lard, and 0.5 grams of salt, stir-fry until cooked and feed to the rabbits, once a day, taken for 7 consecutive days.
5. Take 5-10 grams of glossy privet fruit (Ligustrum lucidum), grind into powder, mix into the feed and feed to the rabbits at one time, for 15-20 consecutive days.
6. For fattening old rabbits, take 2 grams of negundo chastetree fruit (Vitex negundo), 1.5 grams of flavescent sophora root (Sophora flavescens, fried until yellow), grind together into a fine powder, mix into the feed and feed, once a day, for 15 consecutive days.
7. Take 10 grams each of barley malt and male fern rhizome (Dryopteris crassirhizoma), and 15 grams of fleeceflower root (Polygonum multiflorum), grind together into powder. Use 2 grams of the medicine per kilogram of rabbit body weight, mix into the feed and feed, once in the morning and once in the evening, for 15-20 consecutive days. This recipe is suitable for thin and weak rabbits caused by parasites or chronic indigestion.
8. Cinnamon powder 50%, dried ginger powder 20%, licorice powder 9%, star anise powder 7%, soybean powder 6% (fried until cooked), ferrous sulfate 8%, mix thoroughly and then mix into the feed, add an appropriate amount of water and stir well, use 3 grams per rabbit per day, feed once every other day, and after 15 days the rabbit can regain its fat.
9. Ginger powder 25 grams, cinnamon 50 grams, licorice and ferrous sulfate 10 grams each, star anise 9 grams, grind together into a fine powder, mix into the feed and feed each rabbit 2-3 grams each time, once a day, for 7-10 consecutive days, with an obvious fattening effect.
10. Take 5 grams each of the traditional Chinese medicines Omphalia lapidescens (Polyporus mylittae), dried tangerine peel, cyperus rhizome (Cyperus rotundus), and magnolia bark (Magnolia officinalis), and 12 grams of hawthorn, grind together into a fine powder, mix into the feed and feed to the rabbits, or take 5 grams of the medicinal powder and directly mix with water for oral administration, once a day.
