(1) Red spider mite: damage is severe under high temperatures above 25°C (July to August), with a small number of occurrences around mid-April. Control methods: remove dead branches, fallen leaves and weeds, improve cultivation conditions, and appropriately increase air humidity. At the initial stage of occurrence: spray 40% dicofol emulsifiable concentrate at 1000-1500 times dilution, or 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate at 1500 times dilution, or 25% phosmet emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times dilution, or fenvalerate at 800-1000 times dilution, or saomantjing, propargite, hexythiazox, pyridazinone, flufenoxuron, miechongling, etc.

(2) Aphids: they reproduce from March to April, with a peak from April to May. When spring is dry, this pest occurs severely. They lay eggs in November to overwinter. The secretions of this pest often induce sooty mold, and more seriously, this pest can transmit viral diseases.

Control methods: 50% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate at 2000 times dilution, 80% dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times dilution, or 20% fenvalerate at 2000 times dilution, 40% omethoate at 1000 times dilution, and also yibianjing at 1500 times dilution, miechongling, etc.

(3) Cabbage caterpillars and noctuid moths: can be controlled with 90% methomyl soluble powder at 1000-3000 times dilution, 5% chlorfluazuron at 1000-3000 times dilution, 80% dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate at 800-1200 times dilution, etc.

(4) Thrips: can be controlled by spraying 20% fenvalerate at 2500 times dilution, or 40% omethoate at 1000 times dilution, or dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate at 800-1000 times dilution; applying 15% antimony-based granular insecticide into the soil, miechongling at 1500-2000 times dilution, 90% methomyl soluble powder at 2000-3000 times dilution, etc.
