What are the precautions for feeding pigs soybean cake?
Soybean cake is a high-quality feed for pigs, containing about 40% crude protein and 6%-8% fat; its crude fiber content is very low, only below 5%. In the protein, lysine accounts for 2.9%, while methionine and tryptophan each account for 0.6%. Its amino acid content is higher than that of any other plant-based protein feed, making it the most valuable among plant feeds. Soybean cake has an aromatic fragrance, and pigs love it very much, but it lacks vitamin D, carotene, and calcium. Some carrots and mineral feeds such as bone meal and stone powder should be supplemented. The amount of soybean cake used must not be too much; about 15% of the daily ration is generally more appropriate, and exceeding 20% often causes diarrhea in pigs. Therefore, when using soybean cake to feed pigs, it must be used scientifically and fed in an appropriate amount so that it can play its role as a high-quality concentrated feed; otherwise, it will have the opposite effect.
