How to raise shrimp well in midsummer? Master these key aquaculture techniques

Livestock Farming 0 views
In the hot midsummer season, hot weather, strong sunlight, high water temperature and poor water quality affect the shrimp's foraging and molting growth, and can easily cause disease and death in shrimp. During the hot season, farmers should carry out the following management work: implement water-based temperature control and oxygen regulation: as the water temperature rises and the shrimp grow, the water depth must be continuously increased, especially in the middle and late stages of farming, when the water level must be raised to 1.8 m-2 m, and during the high-temperature period it should be kept above 2.2 m. During the high-temperature period, complete drainage and complete refilling should be carried out, keeping the water temperature within 30°C and the water transparency at 35 cm, so as to favor

In the hot midsummer season, hot weather, strong sunlight, high water temperature and poor water quality affect the shrimp's foraging and molting growth, and can easily cause disease and death in shrimp. During the hot season, farmers should carry out the following management work:

Implement water-based temperature control and oxygen regulation: as the water temperature rises and the shrimp grow, the water depth must be continuously increased, especially in the middle and late stages of farming, when the water level must be raised to 1.8 m-2 m, and during the high-temperature period it should be kept above 2.2 m. During the high-temperature period, complete drainage and complete refilling should be carried out, keeping the water temperature within 30°C and the water transparency at 35 cm, so as to favor the shrimp's vigorous feeding and rapid growth, high quality and high yield. When changing the water, it is best to use 60-mesh netting at the water inlet to filter the water, in order to prevent the invasion of tiny organisms carrying the virus of explosive shrimp epidemics.

Scientific feeding in stages: when the shrimp body length is above 4 cm, low-value bait such as mud snails and maggots should be fed, at 6 kg-8 kg per 10,000 shrimp per day; when the body length is 8 cm, feed 50 kg per 10,000 shrimp per day; when the body length is above 12 cm, feed 100 kg per 10,000 shrimp per day. If such bait is insufficient, compound feed can be fed: when the shrimp body length is above 4 cm, feed 1.5 kg of compound feed per 10,000 shrimp per day, and thereafter for every 0.5 cm increase in body length, increase the daily feed by 0.3 kg-0.5 kg per 10,000 shrimp; when the body length is above 10 cm, increase the daily feed by 0.7 kg-0.8 kg per 10,000 shrimp. If feeding ice-fresh small trash fish, substitute 2.5 kg of ice-fresh small trash fish for 1 kg of compound feed. Shrimp have the habit of hiding by day and emerging at night, being active frequently at night with a strong appetite; by day they lie hidden and their appetite weakens. Therefore, the bait should be fed in two portions before sunrise and after sunset, with 1/3 in the morning and 2/3 in the evening. The bait should be placed on the platforms around the shrimp pond so that weaker shrimp can also eat it. When feeding, adhere to "four less and four more" and "two no-feeding": less feeding in the early stage, more in the late stage; less feeding in the morning, more in the evening; less feeding at low tide, more at high tide; less feeding when the shrimp are molting heavily, more when growing normally; do not feed spoiled bait, and do not feed in the ring ditch or deep water. This can effectively improve the feed utilization rate.

Guard against shrimp disease damage: in the hot season, the feeding amount should not be too much or too concentrated, so as to avoid the bait spoiling and becoming foul, which would make the water quality deteriorate; especially fresh and live bait, which easily spoils in hot weather and causes poisoning and death of shrimp. To reduce water pollution in the shrimp pond, change the water frequently; secondly, pay attention to sparse stocking and reasonably adjust the shrimp population density so that the shrimp have a certain space for activity.

Prevent shrimp from dying from floating head: at midnight and before dawn, the dissolved oxygen in the pond water drops to its lowest point of the day, and at this time shrimp are most prone to dying from floating head. If you find opossum shrimp or white shrimp floating at the surface, or small trash fish gathering toward the pond edge (these are signs that the shrimp are beginning to float at the surface), you must promptly start the aerator or continuously change the water to increase the dissolved oxygen in the shrimp pond. Usually, pay attention to removing silt and debris from the shrimp pond and ensure the water is fresh and good, in order to prevent shrimp from dying from floating head.
