Control Methods for Lily Mosaic Virus (CMV)
Symptoms: Chlorotic mottling or necrotic spots appear on the leaves.
Pathogens: Lily latent virus [Lily latent virus] and Cucumber mosaic virus [Cucumber mosaic virus] (abbreviated as CMV). Lily latent virus is widespread in Lilium plants; some lilies show no symptoms after infection with this virus, while others develop chlorotic mottling symptoms. Cucumber mosaic virus causes chlorotic mottling symptoms, and if this disease co-occurs with lily latent virus, lesions develop.
Transmission route: The green peach aphid and other aphids are the vector insects that spread the virus. Plants infected by Cucumber mosaic virus also include cucumber, tomato, zinnia, tobacco and Nicotiana glutinosa, causing mosaic and deformity symptoms.
Control methods: 1. Keep good planting records, do not use diseased plants as propagation material, and burn the removed diseased plants. 2. Regularly spray insecticides to kill aphids.
