Two Simple Tricks to Quickly Get Farmed Fish to Come to the Feeding Table

Livestock Farming 0 views
In recent years, with the continuous development of fish farming technology, the method of raising fish with complete granular feed has been gradually promoted and applied. However, because many fish farmers are not skilled at feeding and conditioning, the fish being trained are slow to come to the feeding table, which not only affects feed intake and delays growth, but also increases costs and affects farming efficiency. Below, we introduce two simple and easy successful conditioning methods that we have summarized in production practice for the reference of users. 1. Feed hanging-bag conditioning method: Use large-mesh window screen (with mesh fine enough not to let feed through) to make a hanging bag that can hold 1.5-2 kg of feed.

1. Feed hanging-bag conditioning method: Use large-mesh window screen (with mesh fine enough not to let feed through) to make a hanging bag that can hold 1.5-2 kg of feed, then fill it with complete granular feed and hang the bag in front of the feeding table so that it floats and swells in the water, allowing the fish to peck at it freely. At the same time, slowly scatter a small amount of the same feed near the feed bag. With such timed and fixed-point conditioning, after about 2-3 days the fish can gather in schools at the feeding table and compete for food, after which the hanging bag can be removed.

2. Light-attraction conditioning method: This method makes use of the tendency of fish to move toward light. At the beginning of conditioning, install a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb (preferably with a waterproof cover), hang it at night in front of the feeding table about 0.7 m above the water surface, and when fish are seen swimming over, scatter complete feed into the water a few granules at a time so that they are gradually attracted into a school. Carry out conditioning 2-3 times a day, gradually shifting to daytime, and after a few days the fish can gather in schools at the feeding table and compete for food. Then cancel the light illumination.
