Introduction to New Gieling (Benzalkonium Bromide), a Commonly Used Clinical Drug for Geese
Properties: This product is a colorless or light yellow clear liquid, easily soluble in water; its aqueous solution is stable, heat-resistant, and can be stored for a long time without losing potency; it has no corrosive effect on metal, rubber, or plastic products. Actions and uses: This product belongs to the quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant class; it has a cleaning and decontaminating effect, and can also adsorb onto the surface of bacteria, changing the permeability of the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, affecting bacterial metabolism, and denaturing bacterial proteins, thereby producing a bactericidal effect. This product has a relatively broad antibacterial spectrum and can kill a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. However, its bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria is significant and stronger than on Gram-negative bacteria; it also has a certain effect on many fungi, but its effect on spores is very weak. It also cannot kill Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This product has a fast and strong bactericidal effect, low toxicity, and little irritation to tissues, and is widely used for disinfection of skin and mucous membranes, and can also be used for disinfection of goose equipment and hatching eggs.
Dosage and usage: A 0.1% aqueous solution is used for spray disinfection of eggshells and immersion disinfection of hatching eggs (immersion time not exceeding 3 minutes). A 0.1% aqueous solution can also be used for disinfection of skin and mucous membranes. A 0.15%-2% aqueous solution can be used for spray disinfection of the space inside goose houses.
Precautions: Avoid using aluminum utensils, so as not to reduce the antibacterial activity of this product; do not use it together with anionic surfactants such as soap and washing powder, to prevent antagonism or weakening of the antibacterial efficacy of this product. Because this product has a degreasing effect, it is also not suitable for disinfection of drinking water.
