Red body disease in freshwater shrimp (Macrobrachium nipponense) causes explosive mortality - how can it be scientifically prevented and treated?
Red body disease in freshwater shrimp is mainly characterized by the body and appendages turning red. The walking legs, swimming legs, tail fan and antennae of diseased shrimp all turn slightly red or bright red, and the most obvious color change is on the inner and outer edges of the swimming legs. Near the heart region of the shrimp's carapace, the transparent blue-green color turns white or light orange-red, forming a triangular shape.

Prevention and treatment method: use a combination of oral bactericidal drugs and external disinfection drugs.
1. Oral drugs (choose either one): (1) Mix Xiabingkang into the feed at a ratio of 4‰ and feed twice a day for 5-6 consecutive days. (2) Mix Xiajunning into the feed at a ratio of 3‰-5‰ and feed twice a day for 5-7 consecutive days.
2. External disinfection drugs (choose either one): (1) After dissolving bromochlorohydantoin in water, splash it over the entire pond so that the drug concentration in the pond water reaches 0.3-0.4ppm, once a day, then splash once more the next day. (2) After dissolving dibromohydantoin in water, splash it over the entire pond so that the drug concentration in the pond water reaches 0.2-0.3ppm, once a day, for two consecutive applications.
