"A woman's beauty must come from the inside out!" Most people have probably heard @#@46@#@ like this, but hearing that deworming your beloved dog must be done from the inside out is probably a first for you.

Anyone who keeps a dog knows that dogs need annual infectious disease vaccinations and deworming, and the order must never be reversed. Compared with getting infectious disease vaccinations, deworming is not so simple. Deworming effectively kills parasitic eggs such as roundworms, hookworms, and pinworms inside a dog's body. In the minds of some dog owners, deworming their dogs is far less important than getting vaccinations against infectious diseases, but they do not realize that taking the easy way out for a moment may bring serious consequences.

Because dogs (especially puppies) have narrow intestinal tracts, and parasites such as roundworms are relatively numerous and large, when they parasitize inside a dog's body, they can easily cause diarrhea, weight loss, and even vomiting of worms. Eggs may also be found in the feces of some dogs, which seriously affects the dog's health. Therefore, as a responsible pet owner, we must take deworming our dogs seriously.

Can a pregnant female dog be dewormed?

A pregnant female dog may also be infected with various internal parasites, and some parasites can be transmitted to puppies through the mother or through milk, causing the puppies to show symptoms of poor development, and in severe cases, endanger their lives. When a female dog cleans the anus of a puppy, she may be reinfected by eggs excreted with the puppy's feces, creating a vicious cycle. Therefore, it is necessary to deworm a pregnant female dog. Given the special period of pregnancy, deworming must be carried out under the guidance of a veterinarian.

Deworming is not the end of the story. In fact, the annual deworming done at an animal hospital only targets some parasites that easily live inside a dog's body. There is also a large army of external parasites constantly threatening a dog's health. So deworming a dog means not only treating internal parasites but also not neglecting external parasites. When spring arrives and flowers bloom and all things revive, various external parasites also begin to stir: fleas, lice, and mites. Do not underestimate these miniature killers, because their harm to dogs cannot be ignored either. Dogs with severe external parasite infestations may even develop a series of adverse consequences such as irritability, anemia, and weakness. So how can you prevent your dog from being troubled by external parasites? You might try the following deworming methods.

1. Regularly bathe your dog with flea-killing shampoo.

2. Do not let your dog play on damp lawns.

3. Strengthen obedience training and forbid your dog from picking up and eating things from the ground.

Perhaps many people with rich experience in raising dogs will say: if a dog has worms on its body, isn't putting a flea collar on it enough? There are indeed many different types of flea collars on the market now, but if the collar you buy is not produced by a legitimate manufacturer, you and your dog will have to endure that pungent smell, and the effect may not necessarily satisfy you.

Commonly used oral deworming medicines now include the Ciba Du Chong Wan series, the healthcare oral flea-killing series, and the Kexing flea-killing series, among others. Each brand's medicines are further divided according to different dog body sizes, so dog owners need to choose according to their own dog's actual situation. In addition, commonly used external deworming medicines include the Frontline series, pet soap, and others, which are also very convenient to use according to the instructions.

Generally speaking, using these methods can keep your dog safe. If unfortunately your dog is severely affected, then you will have to turn to an animal hospital.

Can dog parasites be transmitted to humans?

Generally speaking, parasites that live on dogs are not completely the same as parasites that live on humans, so many parasites live quite comfortably on dogs but cannot parasitize humans. However, there are indeed some parasites shared by humans and dogs, and among them some tapeworms are the most terrifying. They parasitize dogs but cause little harm to dogs, so they are difficult to detect. Yet tapeworms can seriously harm human health, so dog owners must never be careless about parasites.
