The Snake Plum was introduced from California, USA in 1999 and planted the same year at the Ruixue Forest and Fruit Base in Shaanxi. After 4 years of observation, it has been judged to be an excellent mid-to-late ripening variety with superior quality, good productivity, strong adaptability, and fruits that store well. The Snake Plum fruit is relatively large and round-spherical. The average single fruit weight is 139 g, and the largest fruit weighs 210.2 g. The skin is bright red to purplish red, with a bloom. The Snake Plum fruit is relatively large and round-spherical. The average single fruit weight is 139 g, and the largest fruit weighs 210.2 g. The skin is bright red to purplish red, with a bloom. The flesh is pale yellow, gradually turning red from the outside inward as it ripens, and the color is extremely attractive. The texture is crisp and crunchy, non-melting, refreshingly crisp, fine, with a relatively strong aroma, sweet and refreshing taste, and top-grade quality. The soluble solids content is 15.2%, the sugar content is 16.5-19.2%, and the titratable acidity is 0.73%, giving excellent quality. At harvest, the fruit is firm, the surface is smooth and glossy, the flesh is purplish red, and the stone is very small and semi-clinging. It ripens from late July to early August at Ruixue Company in Shaanxi. The harvest period is long; after the dog days begin, harvesting can start once the fruit surface turns red, and it can continue until the fruit surface turns purplish red and fully ripe. The successive harvest period is about 10-15 days, and fruits picked when red have a shelf life of more than 15 days. The fruit stores well: it can be kept for more than 2 months at room temperature and can be stored in a cold room until the end of April the following year. In the Xi'an market, it sells for as much as 40 yuan per kilogram, making it the highest-priced variety in the current Brown Plum series.

This variety's young trees grow quickly, with a vigorous tree habit and a semi-spreading tree form. Combined with summer pruning, a stable high-yielding tree structure can be formed in the same year. It can bear fruit in 2 years, with good productivity; 3-year-old trees average 13.5 kg per tree. This variety performs well whether in mountainous areas or on plains and has relatively strong drought tolerance. The pit-hardening stage is relatively long, and pests and diseases are relatively mild. When planting, the suitable row spacing is 2 m x 3 m in mountainous areas and 3 m x 3 m on plains. The self-fruitfulness rate is high, and after entering the full bearing period, fruit thinning should be carried out, keeping only single fruits to ensure uniform fruit size. For training, the open-center form or natural round-peach form is suitable.
