Introduction to the Types and Usage of Goose Vaccines (Bacterins)
1. Gosling Plague Gosling Vaccine This product uses the attenuated gosling plague virus strain obtained through multiple passages in goose embryos. It is prepared by inoculating 12-14 day old goose embryos, harvesting the infected goose embryo allantoic fluid, adding an appropriate amount of protective agent, and freeze-vacuum drying. Characteristics: Milky white spongy loose mass, dissolves rapidly after adding diluent. Use: For the prevention of gosling plague in goslings. Dosage and administration: This vaccine is suitable for emergency preventive inoculation of goslings from unimmunized breeding geese or goslings that have reached 7-8 hatches or more after breeding geese immunization. When using, follow the dosage indicated on the bottle label, i.e. dilute 1:100, and inject 0.1 ml subcutaneously into goslings within 24 hours after hatching. Immunity period: Active immunity is produced 7 days after inoculation. Validity period: Stored frozen below -15°C, valid for more than 18 months.
2. Gosling Plague Goose Embryo Attenuated Vaccine This product is prepared by inoculating 12-14 day old goose embryos with the attenuated gosling plague goose embryo strain, harvesting the allantoic fluid of goose embryos that died 72-96 hours later, adding an appropriate amount of protective agent, and freeze-vacuum drying. Characteristics: Milky white spongy loose mass, dissolves rapidly after adding diluent. Use: For active immunization of breeding female geese before laying, so that goslings acquire passive immunity to prevent gosling plague. Dosage and administration: Before use, dilute 1:100 with sterile physiological saline. Inject this vaccine half a month before the female geese lay eggs, with each adult breeding goose receiving 1 ml by intramuscular injection. Immunity period: Can confer immunity to goslings of 1-7 hatches. Validity period: Stored frozen below -15°C, valid for more than 18 months. Precautions: Not to be used in goslings.
3. Goose Paramyxovirus Vaccine This product uses an isolated strain of goose paramyxovirus, inoculates chicken embryos, harvests the infected chicken embryo fluid, inactivates it with formalin solution, and adds an appropriate amount of emulsifier. Characteristics: This product is a milky white uniform emulsion. Use: For the prevention of goose paramyxovirus disease. Dosage and administration: 14-16 day old goslings receive 0.3 ml by intramuscular injection. Young geese and adult geese receive 0.5 ml by intramuscular injection. Immunity: 6 months. Validity period: Store at 4-20°C at room temperature, do not freeze, storage period 1 year.
4. Duck Plague Chicken Embryo Attenuated Vaccine This product is prepared by inoculating chicken embryos or chicken embryo fibroblasts with the attenuated duck plague chicken embryo strain, harvesting the infected chicken embryo allantoic fluid, embryo bodies and chorioallantoic membrane for grinding, or harvesting the cell culture fluid, adding an appropriate amount of protective agent, and freeze-vacuum drying. Characteristics: The tissue vaccine is light red, the cell vaccine is milky white, uniform spongy loose mass, easily detached from the bottle wall, rapidly dissolving into a uniform suspension after adding diluent. Use: This product is used to prevent duck plague in ducks and geese. Dosage and administration: When using, according to the dosage indicated on the bottle label, add physiological saline or sterile distilled water to dilute 1:200, and inject 1 ml intramuscularly into ducks or geese over 20 days of age. Immunity period: 5-7 days after vaccination, immunity is produced, and the immunity period is 6-9 months. Validity period: Stored below -15°C, valid for 18 years.
5. Avian Cholera Attenuated Bacterin This bacterin is prepared by inoculating the avian Pasteurella multocida C190E40 attenuated strain into a culture medium suitable for this bacterium, adding protective agent to the culture, and freeze-vacuum drying. Characteristics: This product is a brown spongy loose mass, easily detached from the bottle wall, and rapidly dissolves into a uniform suspension after adding diluent. Use: For the prevention of avian cholera in poultry (chickens, ducks, geese). Dosage and administration: According to the doses indicated on the bottle label, add 20% aluminum hydroxide gel physiological saline to dilute and shake well. For geese over 3 months of age, each receives 0.5 ml by intramuscular injection. Immunity period: 3-5 months. Validity period: Store below 25°C, valid for 1 year. Precautions: Sick and weak geese should not be injected. After dilution, it must be used up within 8 hours. During this period, antibacterial drugs must not be used.
6. Avian Cholera Oil Emulsion Inactivated Vaccine This product is prepared by inoculating chicken-source type A Pasteurella multocida with good antigenicity into a suitable culture medium, inactivating with formalin solution, and adding an appropriate amount of emulsifier. Characteristics: This product is a milky white uniform emulsion. After prolonged standing, a small amount of white precipitate forms, with a milky white liquid in the upper layer. Use: For the prevention of avian cholera. Dosage and administration: Geese over 2 months of age receive 0.5-1 ml by intramuscular injection. Immunity period: 6 months. Validity period: Store at 2-15°C, valid for 1 year.
7. Avian Cholera Tissue Inactivated Vaccine This product is prepared by using the liver, spleen and other organs of ducks, geese and other poultry that died from artificially infected or naturally occurring disease, or alternatively using the embryos of artificially inoculated dead chicken embryos or duck embryos, mashing and homogenizing them, adding an appropriate amount of physiological saline, filtering the resulting filtrate, inactivating with formalin solution, and incubating at 37°C. Characteristics: This product is a grayish-brown liquid. After prolonged standing, a slight precipitate forms. Shake well before injection. Use: For the prevention of avian cholera. Dosage and administration: Geese over 2 months of age, each receives 2 ml by intramuscular injection. Immunity period: 3 months. Validity period: Store at 4-20°C at room temperature, do not freeze, storage period 1 year.
8. Goose Egg Peritonitis Inactivated Vaccine This bacterin is prepared by inoculating Escherichia coli strains isolated from geese with good immunogenicity into a suitable culture medium, inactivating with formalin solution, and adding an appropriate amount of aluminum hydroxide gel. Use: For the prevention of yolk peritonitis in laying female geese, i.e. egg peritonitis. Dosage and use: Inject this vaccine half a month before breeding geese lay eggs, with each goose receiving 1 ml by chest muscle injection. Immunity period: About 4 months. Validity period: Store in a cool, dark, dry place at 10-20°C, valid for 1 year.
