Nine precautions for using fishery drugs in summer

Livestock Farming 0 views
Summer is a period of high incidence of fish diseases, and also a peak period for the use of fishery drugs. The following points should draw everyone's attention: 1. When two drugs are mixed for use, they should first be dissolved separately in water before mixing. Copper sulfate, ferrous sulfate, potassium permanganate, etc. should all be dissolved in water in a wooden bucket or wooden basin. Powdered drugs such as bleaching powder and trichlorfon should first be mixed with a small amount of water into a paste, then diluted with water, so as to prevent caking that may be mistakenly eaten by fish. The following drugs cannot be mixed: bleaching powder and quicklime, copper sulfate and quicklime, trichlorfon and quicklime. 2. Appli

Summer is a period of high incidence of fish diseases, and also a peak period for the use of fishery drugs. The following points should draw everyone's attention:

2. The time for applying the drugs should generally be arranged at around 4 p.m. It is not suitable to splash the drugs in the early morning, so as to avoid causing oxygen deficiency and fish gasping at the surface; nor should the drugs be used at noon when sunlight is direct, so as to avoid production accidents.

3. When using copper sulfate, note the following: 1. The dosage of copper sulfate must be calculated accurately; 2. The water used to dissolve copper sulfate must not exceed 60°C, otherwise the copper sulfate will become ineffective; 3. Copper sulfate should not be used frequently, so as to avoid harming human health.

4. To splash the medicinal liquid, a sprayer may be used, or a wooden ladle or spoon may be used to splash it evenly over the whole pond. Never pour it at a fixed spot.

5. Diagnose carefully and prescribe the right medicine, so as to avoid waste and increased costs.

6. Splashing the drugs is most effective when the water temperature is relatively high, and the splashing should be even. Drugs that do not dissolve easily should be fully dissolved in water before splashing, so as to avoid leaving particles that may cause fish to mistakenly eat them and become poisoned.

7. Within 1 hour to 2 hours after the fish are treated with the drugs, people should not leave the pond edge. Once the fish are found to be gasping severely at the surface or dead fish appear, new water should be quickly added.

8. Drugs must not be used when fish are gasping at the surface or have just stopped gasping at the surface, otherwise it will cause mass death of the fish.

9. When splashing drugs over the whole area, start from the windward side and gradually splash toward the leeward side. Do not splash against the wind.
