Four key points to ensure fish fatten up in autumn

A fishing proverb says: In summer they grow shells, in autumn they grow flesh. When autumn turns cool, it is the peak season for fish growth, and the following four points must be well managed: 1. Manage feeding and fertilizing well. Generally, from September to November, both the amount of fertilizer applied and the amount of feed given should account for about 30% of the total for the whole year. When applying organic fertilizer, apply small amounts multiple times to avoid excessive fertilization causing pond fish to gasp at the surface; when applying inorganic fertilizer, use 5-7.5 kg of ammonium bicarbonate per mu, or 2.5-3.5 kg of urea. A fishing proverb says: In summer they grow shells, in autumn they grow flesh. When autumn turns cool, it is the peak season for fish growth, and the following four points must be well managed:

After "White Dew," grass resources gradually decrease, so at this time the main focus should be on feeding concentrated feed.

2. Manage water quality well. After autumn, temperatures drop and the amount of concentrated feed put into the fish pond relatively increases, so the water must be changed frequently to keep the pond water fresh and clean, fertile but not polluted.

3. Prevent fish from gasping at the surface.

For individual fish ponds with high intensive culture density, because large amounts of feed and fertilizer are applied, the water contains much organic matter and oxygen-consuming factors also increase, making oxygen-deficiency surface gasping more likely. Aerators can be turned on in the evening or early morning, or fresh water can be added to regulate conditions.

4. Prevent and treat fish diseases well.

After "White Dew," although the season of frequent fish diseases has passed, one still must not be careless. From September to November, every 15-20 days, for each fish pond with a water depth of 1 m per mu, 15-20 kg of quicklime should be spread evenly once, or 300 g of bleaching powder can be used for hanging-bag disinfection in the fish pond.
