Pig muscle and joint rheumatism: the cause is not very clear; dampness, severe cold, insufficient exercise, excessive fatness and feed changes may be predisposing factors. The acute form shows severe lameness, which lessens after continuous movement, severe pain in the lumbar muscles, inability to stand, and marked pain when pressing the knee joint of the hind limbs, as well as the muscles of the neck and shoulder blade area. Body temperature is around 39 degrees, respiratory and pulse rates increase, appetite decreases, and if not cured in a short period it easily becomes chronic.

Treatment: 1. 10% sodium salicylate 10-30 ml, 40 urotropin 5-10 ml, 10% anacardine 5-10 ml, 5% glucose 200-500 ml, mix and inject intravenously at one time, once every 12 hours, for 3 consecutive days.
