Detailed Explanation of Key Techniques for Export Cultivation of Cut Rose
1. Soil management
To obtain high quality, high yield and high efficiency in export cut roses, soil improvement must be carried out before planting the cut roses, and the soil must maintain good physical and chemical properties throughout the cultivation period. Soil improvement is achieved by deep plowing and applying a large amount of organic matter, so that the soil's permeability and water- and fertilizer-holding capacity are improved and maintained over the long term, promoting long-term healthy root growth of the cut roses.
2. Cultivation method and planting density
Cut roses mostly adopt the bending-shoot cultivation method, with a single-ridge, double-row cultivation method, plant spacing of 13-15 cm, row spacing of 50-60 cm, and 4500-4800 plants per mu. Planting is carried out in cloudy, low-temperature weather, with morning and evening being the best. When planting, plant along a stretched line to ensure that the seedlings in each ridge are straight after planting. When planting, note that the cut side of the grafted seedling faces inward toward the ridge, the scion of the grafted seedling is 2-3 cm above the ridge surface to prevent the scion from producing adventitious buds, and the main bud of the cutting seedling is parallel to the soil. Planting is generally done from March to September; summer planting has a short seedling-recovery period and plants establish quickly, while winter planting has a long seedling-recovery period and plants establish slowly.
