4 Things to Note When Introducing Pet Rabbits
As the pet rabbit market grows increasingly prosperous, more and more people are introducing pet rabbits, but all kinds of problems have followed. Some people spend a lot of money to buy so-called pet rabbit breeding stock, only to find that when the breeding season arrives, the rabbits do not come into heat. After inquiring carefully, they learn that the rabbits have been sterilized and simply cannot reproduce, so half a year has been wasted for nothing. Some buy rabbits home but the rabbits cannot survive at all, because no breeding techniques were provided, and they just feed them like ordinary rabbits. The result is that the sudden change in living conditions, combined with the abrupt switch in feed, causes the young rabbits to fall ill and die one after another. For those who manage to keep them alive through countless hardships, the breed line turns out to be wrong. A breeding rabbit bought for five or six hundred yuan becomes a crossbred rabbit once it matures. The lop-eared ones no longer have lop ears, the dwarf rabbits grow to six or seven jin, and the coat color and pattern all fade and change. Ah, it turns out they had no ID certificate! There are far too many cases like this.
For this reason, I would like to offer the following points to pet rabbit breeders for reference:
First: Be sure to select breeding stock from a legitimate breeding farm, and check whether they carry out vaccinations on schedule.
Second: Check whether this breeding farm provides after-sales service, that is, whether they still offer corresponding technical guidance after you buy the breeding rabbits.
Third: Check whether they provide accompanying adapted feed for the breeding rabbits, that is, when purchasing breeding rabbits, they should give a portion of transition feed to prevent the young rabbits from suffering from acclimatization, which can lower their immunity and cause unnecessary losses.
Fourth: This is also the most important point, and that is the breeding rabbit's ID certificate, which includes the rabbit's birth time, birthplace, the young rabbit's bloodline and place of origin, as well as body weight, height, and so on.
