Fish Domestication Methods: How to Get Fish to Quickly Come to the Feeding Station
In recent years, with the continuous improvement of @#@233@#@ technology, the method of raising fish with complete-formula pelleted feed has been gradually promoted and applied. However, because many fish farmers are unskilled at feeding domestication, the domesticated fish are slow to come to the feed station, which not only affects feeding and delays growth, but also increases labor and cost and affects farming profitability. Below are two simple and easy domestication methods we have summarized in production practice.
1. Feed hanging-bag domestication method
Use large-mesh window screening (as long as it does not let feed leak through) to make a hanging bag that can hold 1.5-2.0 kg of feed. Put 1.0-1.5 kg of complete-formula pelleted feed in the bag and hang it in front of the feed station so that it swells and floats on the water, allowing the fish to peck freely. At the same time, slowly scatter a small amount of the same feed near the feed bag. Through regular timing and fixed-point domestication, after about 2-3 days the fish can gather as a group and come to the station to compete for food, after which the hanging bag is removed.
2. Light-attraction domestication method
Taking advantage of the tendency of fish to move toward light, during domestication install a 60-watt or 100-watt incandescent lamp (preferably with a waterproof cover) and hang it at night in front of the feed station about 0.7 m above the water surface. When fish are seen swimming over, scatter complete-formula feed into the water a few pellets at a time, gradually attracting them to gather as a group. After doing this 2-3 times, gradually shift to daytime, and after 2-3 days they can gather as a group and come to the station to compete for food, after which the lighting is removed.
