Disinfection with chickens present is an important measure for green product production
Disinfection with chickens present is an effective measure for preventing and controlling avian influenza and Newcastle disease on large-scale @#@230@#@ farms. It is especially necessary during periods with more spring winds, and for chicken houses housing flocks of different ages. The specific method of operation:
Choose an appropriate time. In winter, when temperatures are low, it is best to choose midday when the temperature is high, so the aerosol evaporates quickly, the chickens breathe it in quickly, absorb it quickly, and it takes effect quickly. In spring and summer, when the normal temperature is above 20°C, it is best to choose the afternoon or evening, when the temperature is constant and the aerosol evaporates slowly, so the floating disinfection time inside the house is long and the effect is good.
Choose suitable drugs. The range of drugs used for disinfection with chickens present is relatively narrow, mainly determined by their corrosion of the chickens' respiratory tract and digestive tract mucous membranes and their killing power against pathogenic microorganisms inside the house. Strongly alkaline and strongly acidic types have great killing power, but they are highly corrosive to the chicken cages and equipment inside the house, and they also have a corrosive effect on the mucous membranes of humans and chickens. It is ideal to choose neutral drugs that are highly effective and broad-spectrum, powerful, non-toxic and non-irritating, odorless, leave no residues in eggs or on skin, and do not corrode mucous membranes, such as quaternary ammonium and bis-quaternary ammonium salt types. Commonly used commercial products include Baidusha, Baiduqing, 1210, Jundu No. 5, Shengjie disinfectant, Qiangli Jinlu, etc. Do not simply look at the various different product names; choose based on the main chemical components, chemical composition, and structure.
Choose a scientific dilution ratio. The dilution ratio of a disinfectant drug is determined by the structure formed when the drug's chemical molecular structure combines with water molecules. Different ratios mean different killing power. Different structural formulas of drug molecular clusters mean different ability to compete for pathogens. Generally there are three grades: emergency disinfection is for severe contamination during an epidemic season, the dilution ratio should be larger and less water should be added; preventive disinfection during an epidemic period uses a dilution of 1 to 1000~2000; ordinary disinfection generally uses a dilution of 2000~3000. Especially for targeted disinfection, the dilution ratio should be determined according to the characteristics of the pathogen. For bacteria, the dilution ratio is larger and more water is added, often 2000~3000 times; when diluting for viruses, the ratio is smaller and less water is added, generally 500~1000 times. Necessary dilution should be carried out according to need.
Choose moderate water quality. There are two standards for distinguishing water quality: one is pH value, and the other is hard water and soft water. Hard water contains more calcium and magnesium ions, which compete for combination with drug molecular clusters, affect combination with pathogens, and thus affect killing power. Therefore, when diluting quaternary ammonium drugs, choose soft water, or boiled water. For pH value, neutral water of 6~7 is best, and it also does not destroy the chemical structure of bis-quaternary ammonium.
Prepare the physical environment. The physical environment refers to the items stored inside the house. Wooden sticks, broken glass, eggshells, chicken feathers, chicken manure, and all kinds of miscellaneous waste must all be thoroughly cleaned out.
Sealing time. After spraying the drug, close the door and seal for about 1 hour. The drug should float in the air for as long as possible, at least half an hour, and the condition of the flock must be constantly observed to prevent accidents such as poisoning, suffocation, and panic.
In short, spray disinfection is a technique that must be mastered in the process of raising chickens. Although there are no indicators visible to the naked eye, there are standards for healthy growth without infection in chicken raising. With good disinfection technique, chickens grow well, productivity is high, culling is low, medication is reduced, infection is reduced, and drug residues are reduced. It is a basic technique for disease prevention and the first important barrier against disease.
