Anthracnose in Spanish dagger (Yucca gloriosa) is a common disease of the plant, and it spreads very quickly. If it is not controlled in time after onset, it will not only affect the ornamental effect, but in severe cases it will also cause the plant to die. Its symptoms, development pattern and control methods are described below: Symptoms: It first appears at the leaf tip, initially as brown spots, which then expand outward in a circular or irregular shape. Symptoms: It first appears at the leaf tip, initially as brown spots, which then expand outward in a circular or irregular shape. The inside of the lesion is grayish brown, surrounded by a yellow halo, with scattered black granular bodies on the surface. After the entire leaf is infected, it turns black.

Development pattern: This disease is caused by infection with Colletotrichum agaves. The peak period of onset is from mid-May to early October. The pathogen overwinters on diseased leaves as mycelium, conidia and sclerotia, and spreads through wind and rain. It is prone to occur under conditions of high temperature, high humidity and poor ventilation.

Control methods: 1. Strengthen water and fertilizer management, enhance tree vigor, and improve the plant's disease resistance; 2. When planting initially, pay attention to choosing the planting environment, and the cultivation site must have good ventilation; 3. Remove diseased leaves promptly and burn them in a centralized manner to reduce the source of infection; 4. At the time of onset, spray with 50% thiram-carbendazim 300-fold solution or 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder 1000-fold solution, spraying once a week for 3 to 4 consecutive times, which can effectively bring the disease under control.
